π June Is Alzheimerβs & Brain Awareness Month π
Alzheimerβs & Brain Awareness Month was established by the Alzheimerβs Association to raise awareness about Alzheimerβs disease, dementia, brain health, and the importance of supporting caregivers and families affected by memory loss.
Why was it created?
Because millions of people worldwide are living with Alzheimerβs disease and other forms of dementia. Many families silently struggle with the emotional, physical, and mental impact of caring for loved ones experiencing memory decline.
Alzheimerβs disease affects the brain and can interfere with:
π Memory
π Thinking
π Communication
π Decision-making
π Daily activities
π Mood and behavior
Common warning signs may include:
β’ Forgetting recent conversations
β’ Confusion with time or place
β’ Trouble completing familiar tasks
β’ Difficulty finding words
β’ Poor judgment
β’ Withdrawal from social activities
β’ Personality or mood changes
Why awareness matters:
β Encourages early recognition and support
β Helps families understand the disease
β Reduces stigma and isolation
β Promotes brain health education
β Supports research and caregiving resources
Holistic ways to support brain wellness:
π Eat nutritious foods
π Stay mentally active
π Exercise regularly
π Get quality sleep
π Manage stress
π Stay socially connected
π Pray, meditate, and nourish your spirit
βThe Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.β
Psalm 34:18
To every caregiver, family member, and loved one:
Your care matters.
Your strength matters.
You are not alone.
Together we can spread hope, support, and awareness. π
