Today marks 45 years of Kay's Pharmacy — and somehow, the woman behind it would probably never tell you herself.

Miss Kay is one of the most humble, kindhearted, and selfless people you could ever meet. She never seeks recognition, never asks for attention, and spends every day caring for others before herself. For 45 years, her pharmacy has been more than just a business — it has been a place of compassion, comfort, and community.

The impact she has made on so many lives over the years is impossible to measure. From helping families through difficult times to always greeting people with warmth and kindness, Miss Kay has built something truly special.

🚨 Important Pharmacy Update 🚨

As part of our transition to a new pharmacy system, our credit/debit card processing is still being installed and may take up to 3 weeks from the install date last Tuesday (May 5th) to become fully operational.

At this time, we are ONLY able to accept:
✔️ Cash
✔️ Checks

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding while we work through these upgrades to better serve our patients. Thank you for supporting your local pharmacy during this transition! 💙

Important Notice to Our Patients

We appreciate your patience and kindness as our pharmacy transitions to a new computer system. Unfortunately, during this change, patient information and prescription profiles are needing to be rebuilt and verified manually.

This means our staff is currently working through:

* Re-entering patient information
* Contacting doctors’ offices for current prescriptions
* Verifying medications for safety and accuracy

To help speed up this process, we encourage patients to contact their doctor’s office directly and ask them to send current prescriptions to our pharmacy. This can significantly reduce wait times and help us serve everyone more quickly.

Please know our team is working as fast and carefully as possible to ensure every prescription is handled safely and correctly. We understand delays can be frustrating, and we truly appreciate your understanding while we navigate this transition.

Things may take some time before everything runs smoothly again, but we are committed to getting there.

Kay’s Pharmacy will be closed Saturday, May 2nd.

We’ll be open Monday & Tuesday May 4th and 5th with limited services. If you are out of medication or have an urgent need, please call us 785-258-3703 so we can do our best to accommodate.

We have made the decision to switch computer software systems and are hopeful to resume normal operations on Wednesday. We kindly ask for your patience as our staff works through this learning curve.

Our systems are still currently down, but we have experts working diligently to resolve the issue and reopen as soon as possible. We’ll continue to share updates as we learn more.
