This weekend, Hometown Hero CPR pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage and service will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

I also wanted to let everyone know that I’ll be taking the ENTIRE holiday weekend (plus Monday 😉) to rest, recharge, spend time with family, and enjoy the holiday myself.

That means I will not be scheduling classes, answering business messages right away, or handling renewals until Tuesday.

🦷💙 Lifesaving Skills Meet Everyday Care 💙🦷

This past Friday I had the privilege of hosting Blended BLS Skills Check-Offs at Happy Smiles Dentistry in Olive Branch, and WOW!!… what an incredible group!

From the moment we started, these ladies were engaged, confident, and sharp. Not only did they come ready to renew their skills, but they also poured back into me by sharing how they care for infants and toddlers during dental visits.

Dental teams often work hand-in-hand with parents to comfort, position, and safely care for little ones during cleanings and procedures, while also teaching parents how to properly care for their child’s teeth at home.

💡 And that’s exactly why BLS matters.

Because whether you’re in a dental office, a surgery center, a nursing home, or out in the community…
👉 You are often the first line of response in an emergency.

We practiced:
✔️ High-quality CPR
✔️ AED use
✔️ Infant and child life-saving skills

⛈️ As these storms roll in tonight…

Quick question:
DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO WHEN THE POWER GOES OUT? ⛈️

Most of us do, right?

We grab flashlights 🔦
Light a candle 🕯️
Maybe even fire up a generator ⚡️

We prepare for the what if.

But here’s something I was thinking about standing outside watching this storm roll in…

What if it’s not the power that goes out?

What if it’s someone’s heartbeat? 💔

We prepare for inconvenience…
But most people aren’t prepared for an emergency.

And the truth is:
CPR and an AED are the REAL backup plan.

Because I want our kids, babysitters, and young teens to be more than just “home alone”…

I want them confident enough to step in and save a life if they ever had to.

💙 TEEN CPR CLASS — NOW OPEN FOR REGISTRATION

I just opened up spots for my Teen Heartsaver CPR class and I’m SO excited for this one 🙌

This is one of my favorite classes to teach. It’s designed for teens who babysit, help with younger siblings, or just want to feel confident in an emergency situation.

We’ll cover CPR, AED use, and choking relief with hands-on practice in a fun, supportive environment.

My goal is simple: I want these kids to walk out confident and prepared to step in when it matters most. 💙

I just want to pause and say Thank You❤️

The response, the messages, the shares… it’s been overwhelming in the best way. And I don’t take that lightly.

Seeing so many people, from teens to parents, walk away from class holding their certificates, more CONFIDENT and PREPARED than when they walked in… it never gets old.

But more than that, it’s why this matters so much to me.

🚨 Over 80% of cardiac emergencies happen outside of a hospital…
most often at HOME.

That means it’s not happening in an ICU.
It’s happening in living rooms, kitchens, backyards…
with the PEOPLE you LOVE most.

That’s WHY these classes mean so much more than just a certification.

I want people to feel CONFIDENT, not helpless…
PREPARED, not panicked…
ready to step in when it matters MOST.

Only 3 showed up… but this is why I LOVE what I do 💙

Today’s class was small and intimate, just three girls.
Two homeschoolers and one from Horn Lake High… all from completely different backgrounds.

But here’s what I’ve learned…

👉 It doesn’t matter where they come from—every single one of them is CAPABLE of learning these life-saving skills.

We got HANDS ON with CPR (of course)…
but we also made it FUN 🎶

I let them pick their favorite songs (from the American Heart CPR playlist), and y’all…
that’s when it clicks.

💥 Confidence goes up
💥 Compressions get better
💥 And those TWO green lights start showing up

(If you know, you know 👏)

And can I just say… these girls were ALL SMILES AND RIGHT ANSWERS when prompted.

I kept telling them:
“Brains AND beauty!” and by the end of class, you could just see that CONFIDENCE all over them. 🥰

That’s what this is really about.

Not just CPR…
but walking away knowing:
“I can do this if it ever matters.”

And one day… it just might.

Summer babysitting season is almost here… are they ready? 👀

I already have several teens signed up for THIS Saturday’s class and I’m SO excited!!
This is honestly one of my favorite classes to teach. ❤️

The little guy in the first picture?
He was nervous when he first got there… even struggled a little with compressions at first.

But with a little coaching and encouragement — something clicked.

👉 He adjusted his form
👉 Got stronger with each round
👉 And by the end… he was confidently performing CPR and even using the AED

That right there is why I LOVE this class.

Because it’s not just about learning CPR…
It’s about building the confidence to step in when it matters most.
