Subject: The Blessing of Small Beginnings
💬 “Great things often start small — but they don’t stay small.” — Unknown
📖 “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” — Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)
📝 Story
In Brookhaven, a retired teacher started a small after school reading circle on her porch with just three neighborhood children. She offered snacks, story time, and encouragement. Word spread, and soon more children joined. Volunteers stepped in, local businesses donated books, and the porch circle grew into a full community literacy program.
Years later, one of the original children returned as a college student to volunteer. He said, “This little porch changed my life.” What began as a small act of love became a movement that shaped a generation.
💭 Reflection
Small beginnings are sacred. God often plants big purpose in small seeds — a conversation, a prayer, a step of obedience. Mississippi’s greatest community efforts often started with one person deciding to make a difference. Never underestimate what God can grow from what seems small.
📣 Call to Action
Start something small today — a habit, a prayer, a kindness — and trust God to grow it.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, bless our small beginnings and use them for Your glory. Amen.
