Subject: The Blessing of Small Beginnings
💬 “Great things often start small — but they don’t stay small.” — Unknown
📖 “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” — Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)
📝 Story
In Brookhaven, a retired teacher started a small after school reading circle on her porch with just three neighborhood children. She offered snacks, story time, and encouragement. Word spread, and soon more children joined. Volunteers stepped in, local businesses donated books, and the porch circle grew into a full community literacy program.
Years later, one of the original children returned as a college student to volunteer. He said, “This little porch changed my life.” What began as a small act of love became a movement that shaped a generation.
💭 Reflection
Small beginnings are sacred. God often plants big purpose in small seeds — a conversation, a prayer, a step of obedience. Mississippi’s greatest community efforts often started with one person deciding to make a difference. Never underestimate what God can grow from what seems small.
📣 Call to Action
Start something small today — a habit, a prayer, a kindness — and trust God to grow it.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, bless our small beginnings and use them for Your glory. Amen.

Subject: When God Restores
💬 “God can restore what you lost, rebuild what broke, and redeem what hurt you.” — Unknown
📖 “I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten.” — Joel 2:25 (KJV)
📝 Story
In Vicksburg, a couple’s home was damaged during a severe storm. They lost furniture, keepsakes, and parts of the house they had spent years improving. For weeks, they felt overwhelmed by the loss. But neighbors, church members, and volunteers from across the region showed up with tools, supplies, and helping hands.
As repairs progressed, the couple noticed something unexpected — the restored home was stronger, safer, and more beautiful than before. “We lost a lot,” the husband said, “but God gave us back more than we imagined.” Their story became a testimony of how restoration often comes through both divine provision and community compassion.
💭 Reflection
Restoration is one of God’s specialties. Mississippi has seen restoration after storms, setbacks, and seasons of hardship. God doesn’t just patch up broken places — He rebuilds them with purpose. What feels ruined can become redeemed. What feels lost can be returned in ways we never expected.
📣 Call to Action
Ask God to restore one area of your life that feels broken or depleted.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, restore what has been lost and renew our hope. Amen.

Subject: Courage for the Next Step
💬 “Courage doesn’t always roar; sometimes it’s the quiet voice saying, ‘Try again tomorrow.’” — Unknown
📖 “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God goes with you.” — Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)
📝 Story
In Oxford, a college student struggled through her first year. Between homesickness, tough classes, and financial stress, she considered dropping out. One evening, she called her grandmother in tears. Her grandmother said, “Baby, courage isn’t about feeling brave — it’s about moving forward even when you don’t.”
The next day, the student met with an advisor, found tutoring support, and applied for scholarships. Slowly, things improved. She graduated four years later with honors. At her ceremony, she said, “I didn’t make it because I was fearless. I made it because God gave me courage one step at a time.”
💭 Reflection
Courage is not the absence of fear — it’s the decision to trust God in the face of it. Mississippi students, workers, and families know what it means to push forward despite uncertainty. God doesn’t ask us to leap; He asks us to take the next step, trusting that He walks with us.
📣 Call to Action
Take one courageous step today toward something you’ve been hesitant to face.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, give us courage for every step You call us to take. Amen.

💙 What if the strongest change agent in a child’s life… is a father who decides to move forward?
At Oak Hill, we’re watching something powerful happen.
Men—new fathers, returning fathers, reconnecting fathers, grandfathers, mentors—are stepping into a journey that is bigger than biology. Bigger than circumstance. Bigger than the past.

Through Fatherhood Forward and the D.A.D.S. Initiative, we’re seeing fathers:
🔹 Build legacy from the very first heartbeat
🔹 Rebuild trust after seasons of distance
🔹 Re-enter their children’s lives with dignity and purpose
🔹 Move from simply being present to being transformational

Because fatherhood isn’t a moment.
It’s a mission.
And when a father heals, leads, and loves with intention—generations shift.

If you’re ready to move from where you’ve been to where your family needs you to be, we’re ready to walk with you.

Subject: The Gift of Community
💬 “We are stronger together than we could ever be alone.” — Unknown
📖 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 (NIV)
📝 Story
In Laurel, a single mother faced a difficult season after losing her job. She worried about groceries, rent, and caring for her children. One Sunday, her church quietly stepped in — members brought meals, offered rides, helped with job leads, and even covered a month of utilities. She later said, “I didn’t just receive help; I received hope.”
Months later, when she found stable work, she became one of the most active volunteers in the church’s outreach ministry. “Community saved me,” she said. “Now I want to be that community for someone else.”
💭 Reflection
God never intended for us to walk alone. Mississippi communities have long embodied the power of togetherness — neighbors checking on each other, churches stepping in, families rallying around those in need. When we carry one another’s burdens, we become living expressions of God’s love. Community is not just a blessing; it is a calling.
📣 Call to Action
Reach out to someone who may be carrying a heavy load. Offer support, prayer, or a listening ear.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, help us be a community that lifts, loves, and supports one another. Amen.
