Last Friday, I received a call from one of my hospice partners about a couple who needed support as the husband was being discharged from a skilled nursing facility to return home on hospice care. There was a possibility care would need to begin same day.

Before I even walked into the facility, I sent a quick message to my team: "Heads up... incoming hospice client. Care will possibly start tonight."

When I arrived, Beverly was already working her magic, coordinating a smooth discharge home. As I met with the wife and finalized the care plan, my team was working behind the scenes. I sent Mary the information needed, and within an hour, shifts were filled.

Mary Long has been with me for two years. We've laughed together, cried together, learned together, and yes... we've even disagreed a few times. But through it all, she continues to show up in the moments that matter most. Her dedication, compassion, and determination are a huge part of what allows us to serve families when they need us most.

This is what teamwork looks like. It's not about one person—it's about people coming together with a shared purpose: making sure families receive the care, dignity, and support they deserve when it matters most.

These are the moments that remind me why I love what I do.

Thank you Mary Long for always going over and beyond for our clients and their family.
