As so often happens, I developed my first product, a soap, to solve my own problem. Looking for products that were healing, or at the very least not destructive, I learned to read ingredient labels, then became intrigued by the healing properties of the ingredients themselves. Since I couldn't find a product that was just right for my skin, I created

my own. During years of experimental cooking for my son who couldn't eat gluten, I learned about food chemistry. I applied what I learned to soapmaking. Friends began asking for my soap, then recommending it and buying it for their friends. It seemed I wasn't the only one whose hands needed help. And here we are 13 years later, still making soaps and lotions and other natural skin care products. Holmes Naturals helps hands naturally
We make our soaps and lotions by hand in small batches � no big machinery here. We use the best, most natural ingredients available. We weigh each ingredient every time so your favorite soap is the same great quality every time you order. We try to buy ingredients locally to support other small businesses. This is a garage-grown, woman-owned business, so each and every customer is important to us. Holmes Naturals supports children and families
We also make an honest effort to help where we can, donating 10 percent of all sales to charities supporting children and families worldwide. Some past recipients include Ronald McDonald House, Susan G. Komen, Women to Women International, CASA, Make a Wish Foundation, Boys and Girls Aid Society, Habitat for Humanity, and the food bank at Sonrise Church in Hillsboro, Oregon. My favorite day in the "factory" is coming up with another recipe, testing a combination of essential oils and ingredients, looking for just the right skin feel, just the right fragrance. Dear Customers and Friends,

After many years of making soap and skin care products, I am retiring to have more time to spend with my children and grandchildren.

I loved this soap making adventure; I have met so many nice people.
