Every dollar raised through this fundraiser stays right here in Lea County, helping local individuals and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and recognizing the signs.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when caught early, yet many people delay screenings or overlook symptoms. Regular screenings and paying attention to changes in your body can truly save lives. Speaking with your doctor about when you should begin screening or if early testing may be right for you is an important step in protecting your health.

Some warning signs may include persistent stomach pain, changes in bowel habits, blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss, or ongoing fatigue. If you notice something that doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it—talk to your doctor.

At Light of Lea County, we stand with the fighters, survivors, and families affected by cancer in our community. By sharing awareness and encouraging early detection, we can help protect the health of those we love.

Texas Roadhouse is supporting Light of Lea County this month by selling T-shirts, appetizers, and wristbands. The proceeds from these sales will go to Light of Lea County, which provides local cancer patients with gas, food, lodging, and utilities while they undergo cancer treatment. 🌶✨ **United Way’s Chili Fest is almost here!** ✨🌶

📅 **September 26th–27th**
📍 Downtown Broadway

Join us for United Way of Lea Countys **Campaign Kickoff** filled with fun, food, and festivities for the whole family!

💛 On **Friday Night**, United Way will host the **Walk for Light** — a memory and survivor walk honoring those impacted by cancer. Together, we’ll light up Downtown Broadway with **luminarias (\$5 a bag)**. All proceeds go directly back into Light of Lea County to continue serving families in our community.

✨ We especially invite **anyone who has battled or is currently battling cancer** to walk with us as we honor your courage and strength.

🙏 A huge THANK YOU to United Way of Lea County for putting on this walk and supporting our mission.

🎗 Plus, September is **Childhood Cancer Awareness Month**. On **September 26th**, let’s all **GO GOLD in Lea County** to raise awareness for the youth and families who are affected.
