“Why Menopause Puts Your Heart at Risk”

Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women in the United States, not breast cancer. It kills more women than all cancers combined, and about 1 in 3 women will die from heart disease. And menopause is a big part of why.

Before menopause, estrogen actually helps protect your heart, it helps keep cholesterol in a healthier range, keeps your blood vessels flexible, and plays a role in how your body manages inflammation and blood pressure. But once estrogen declines through perimenopause and menopause, that protection fades quickly.

Bad cholesterol starts to rise, blood pressure often creeps up, and fat distribution shifts toward the abdomen. So a woman can be doing everything the same as she did in her 30s…same diet, same workouts…and still watch her numbers move, simply because the hormonal environment protecting her heart has changed.
This is exactly why perimenopause is such an important window to pay attention to your cardiac risk, not after something happens, but before.

In my next video, I’ll walk you through what’s actually changed in the guidelines, and what treatment really looks like.

At any point, if you want to learn more about your risks, go to www.TullyMD.com to make an appointment or call (201)241-2626.

GLP-1s just got even more interesting. New studies from ASCO 2026 and SABCS 2025 show significant reductions in breast cancer incidence AND recurrence in women taking GLP-1 medications and the data is turning heads in the oncology world.

But here’s what the headlines won’t tell you: the benefit you get from any medication depends entirely on your individual risk profile, your hormones, your metabolic health, your family history, and your goals. That’s where concierge medicine changes everything.

As your concierge physician, I have the time to sit with you, review your full picture, and have the kind of thorough, unhurried conversation that a 10-minute appointment simply doesn’t allow. We can look at whether a GLP-1 is appropriate for you, not just for weight, but in the context of your breast cancer risk, your metabolic markers, your cardiovascular health, and more. We monitor you closely, adjust early, and catch what gets missed in a rushed system.

This is precisely the kind of nuanced, evolving science that concierge medicine was built for, because translating cutting-edge research into a personalized plan for YOU requires a doctor who actually knows you.

Save this. Share it with someone you love. And if you want to know what this research means for your health specifically, the link to book is in my bio.

Postpartum depression is more than just the “baby blues” and it’s more common than many people realize.

Up to 1 in 5 mothers experience it, and it can show up anytime in the first year after having a baby.

This isn’t just about feeling tired or emotional. It can look like persistent sadness, anxiety, irritability, racing thoughts, or difficulty bonding with your baby.

And one of the biggest misconceptions? That it will just go away on its own.It won’t.

Without treatment, postpartum depression can last for months and affect not only you, but your baby and your family.

The good news is that it is highly treatable, and many women begin to feel better within just a few weeks of the right support.

If your symptoms last longer than 2 weeks, worsen, or interfere with your daily life, it’s time to reach out. I go deeper into symptoms, causes, and treatment options in my latest blog so you can better understand what’s happening and what to do next.

Concierge medicine offers a different approach, one that is personalized, attentive, and built around you. With longer visits, direct access to your doctor, and individualized care plans, it allows for early identification, thoughtful treatment, and ongoing support through your recovery.

You don’t have to push through this alone. You deserve care, support, and to feel like yourself again.

A Postpartum Depression Blog Is Now Available!❤️

1 in 5 moms experience postpartum depression — and so many suffer in silence, thinking it will just pass. 💙
It won’t. And you don’t have to wait.

PPD is not the baby blues. It’s a real medical condition that affects your mood, your relationships, your ability to bond with your baby — and it’s highly treatable when caught early.

I just published a comprehensive guide covering everything you need to know:
✔️ How to tell the difference between baby blues and PPD
✔️ Emotional, anxiety, and behavioral symptoms to watch for
✔️ Risk factors (yes, partners can get it too)
✔️ Treatment options that actually work
✔️ When to seek emergency help

If you’ve been feeling off since having your baby — this is for you. 🤍

“It’s just that time of the month.”

Many women hear this when they bring up severe period pain, bloating, or painful bowel movements. But for some, those symptoms may be something more.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month, and understanding the signs is the first step toward getting the care and support you deserve. 💛

Endometriosis affects about 1 in 10 women in the United States and can cause chronic pelvic pain, heavy periods, pain during s*x, and difficulty getting pregnant.

Endometriosis care deserves time, attention, and a personalized approach 💛

Despite how common it is, endometriosis is a long and frustrating journey for many women, with years of symptoms, delayed diagnosis, and feeling unheard. This is where concierge medicine can make a meaningful difference. In a concierge model, care is not rushed. There is time to truly listen, connect the dots, and take symptoms seriously from the very beginning.

How concierge medicine can support endometriosis care:
✨ Longer, in-depth visits to fully understand your symptoms and history
✨ Thoughtful, proactive evaluation, not dismissing pain as “normal”
✨ Coordination with top specialists (gynecology, fertility, pelvic floor therapy)
✨ Personalized treatment plans tailored to your lifestyle and goals
✨ Ongoing support, follow-up, and adjustments as your needs evolve

Endometriosis is complex and managing it requires more than a quick visit. It requires partnership, advocacy, and continuity of care.
You deserve to feel heard. You deserve answers. And you deserve a plan that’s built around you.

💛 If you’ve been struggling with symptoms or searching for clarity, know that a more supportive, individualized approach is possible. Call TullyMD today at (201) 241-2626 to make an appointment today!

March is MS Awareness Month. 💛

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological condition that affects how the brain and body communicate. While the exact cause remains unknown, women are about 3x more likely to develop it than men.

Symptoms can vary widely, with vision changes, numbness or weakness, fatigue, brain fog, and balance or coordination challenges. And too often, patients experiencing these symptoms are dismissed or told it’s “just stress.” But MS doesn’t always present in obvious ways. It can be subtle, unpredictable, and deeply disruptive, and those symptoms deserve careful attention, not dismissal.

Accurate diagnosis requires time and thoughtful evaluation: a detailed medical history, neurological exam, and often MRI imaging. But care doesn’t stop at diagnosis. MS is a lifelong condition that requires ongoing monitoring, support, and adjustment of treatment over time.

The good news: many people with MS live full, healthy lives with the right care and support. Prioritizing sleep, nutrition, movement, and staying consistent with treatment can make a meaningful difference.

This is where concierge medicine can help. With longer visits, enhanced access, and a more personalized approach, patients are truly heard. Subtle changes are caught earlier, concerns are addressed sooner, and care becomes proactive, not reactive.

At TullyMD, we believe that understanding your health is empowering and that listening carefully is essential care. Call TullyMD today at (201) 241-2626 to find out more about how concierge medicine can benefit you.
