We are so grateful for Greg and the work he does to support community pharmacies just like us at Jones Hometown Pharmacy.
There is a gap in awareness and education for so many in office. Greg helps to share knowledge and bring transparency that the big PBMs (Pharmacy Benefits Managers), like Express Scripts often tries to hide or simply provides misleading information. Express Scripts is the PBM running the Tricare network.
Others like Caremark, Aetna, Cigna, Optum and more can be just as guilty. I simply highlight Express Scripts more because they run Tricare and choose higher profit for themselves over caring for the men and women who served our country.
Keep at it Greg, APCI, and everyone else pushing against PBMs at state and federal levels so we can all, at all levels of care, focus on providing the best patient care again.
Make Patient Care Great Again
Military families deserve a pharmacy benefit that puts patients first.
Yesterday's U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee hearing brought important attention to the future of the TRICARE pharmacy program. During the hearing, Greg Reybold, VP of Public Policy for APCI, urged lawmakers to closely examine how the program is administered and the impact it has on patient access, pharmacy choice, and community pharmacies.
The discussion highlighted the need for greater transparency, accountability, and oversight to ensure TRICARE serves the best interests of the service members, veterans, and military families who rely on it every day.
We appreciate those who continue advocating for a fair, patient-centered pharmacy benefit that protects access to care, and especially Greg for his testimony yesterday and his continued advocacy for patient access.
