SERC staff are having a summer full of adventures, memories, and new experiences! Over the next few weeks, we will introduce SERC staff members and share some of the adventures they are up to this summer. Today, we are introducing Shannon Esmeyer, SERC's Administrative Assistant.

Shannon's favorite summer treat: summer fruits like watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, etc., popsicles, going to vacation destinations with her family, enjoying time with close friends, swimming in her pool, and having nice cold beverages

Shannon's favorite summer vacation: Turks and Caicos Islands, Hawaii, or Rome

Shannon's favorite thing about her job: Being able to see the positive outcomes of families and schools working together to find solutions that support students so that they can be successful in their education journey.

Thank you, Shannon, for all you do for SERC!

What an absolute amazing day of learning and connection this past Saturday in Duncan, Oklahoma!
The Oklahoma Parents Center would like to thank the parents, families, professionals, and vendor’s who joined our Stephens County Parental Regional Institute training - your participation made it a huge success.
We are grateful to Oklahoma State Department of Education, Special Education Resolution Center, and ABLE Tech for coming to share valuable information and resources with everyone.
We also loved seeing the children having a wonderful time throughout the day! From fun activities and games to opportunities to connect with new friends, the kids brought so much energy and excitement to the event.
One of the most heartwarming moments of the training was witnessing a young child on the Autism Spectrum overcome his fear of riding a bicycle. Due to sensory, balance, and mobility challenges often associated with Autism, riding a bike had been a difficult goal to achieve. During the event, this family was gifted a specially designed adaptive bicycle from Duncan AMBUCS, created to meet the unique needs of children. Watching this child ride independently for the first time was an unforgettable experience, and seeing the joy and pride on his parents' faces made the moment even more special. We extend our sincere gratitude to Duncan AMBUCS for their generous donation and for helping make this life-changing milestone possible for this family.
A BIG THANKS goes to those that helped sponsor this event:
