We’re proud to share that Avenue at Westshore has partnered with Hope Pkgs to serve as an official donation site for First Night Bags that support foster children in our community.

This collaboration allows us to come together with our neighbors, residents, and local partners to make a meaningful difference during one of the most vulnerable moments in a child’s life—their first night in a new home.

✨ A special note from Hope Pkgs:
ā€œYour generosity provides foster kids with comfort and care during a challenging time. Because of your support, each bag is filled with necessities and special touches that bring hope and reassurance to children on their first night in a new home. We couldn't do it without you!ā€

We’re incredibly grateful to be part of something that brings comfort, dignity, and hope to children in need—and we invite our community to join us. Every donation, big or small, helps create a warm welcome for a child starting a new chapter.

šŸ’™ Together, we can make a lasting impact. Thank you for supporting this important cause and helping us strengthen our community.

We had a wonderful Nurses Week, and it wouldn’t have been the same without the support of our amazing friends at Elara Caring and Gentiva—thank you for helping make it so special! Your partnership and thoughtfulness truly mean a lot to our team.
While our building may be new, the care you receive here certainly isn’t. With over 115 years of combined nursing experience on our team, we like to say we’ve seen just about everything… and still show up each day ready to learn more ā˜•šŸµ

Most importantly, we want to take a moment to recognize and appreciate our incredible nurses. Your compassion, dedication, and sense of humor (because let’s be honest, you need it in this line of work!) make all the difference for our patients and families every single day.

We are truly grateful for each and every one of you—thank you for the heart you bring to what you do. šŸ’™

Meet AllisionšŸ’™šŸ©ŗ

Allision is our Director of Nursing here at Avenue at Westshore. Her calling to nursing began after caring for her grandmother during her end‑of‑life journey—an experience that profoundly shaped her passion for compassionate, patient‑centered care. She began her nursing career in 2007 as a Certified Nursing Assistant and continued her education, earning her Registered Nurse degree in 2009. Committed to ongoing growth and excellence, Allision returned to school and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2016.

Throughout her career, Allision has gained extensive experience in Acute Care and Hospice, where she built a strong clinical foundation and deepened her appreciation for compassionate care. Along the way, she discovered her true passion for geriatrics—a specialty that allows her to make a meaningful and lasting impact on individuals and their families.
Allision has proudly served as a Director of Nursing for the past eight years and truly loves what she does. While the role often brings long days and challenges, she believes the rewards far outweigh the stress, knowing the difference made in the lives touched every day.

Outside of nursing, Allision has been married to her husband, Jason, for 21 years. Together they have two sons, Liam and Camden, and also have their nephew, Keeghan, living at home. Their family also includes a partial Maine C**n cat, Mr. Kitters. In her free time, Allision enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her family, soaking up the sunshine, barbequing, and jeeping.

Allision is excited to join the team at Avenue at Westshore and looks forward to providing exceptional care to the community.

Meet BrenadettešŸ’™šŸ©ŗ

My name is Brenadette Ledezma, and I am a Licensed Practical Nurse with over five years of experience in long-term care. I began my healthcare journey in 2015 as a home health aide and later worked as a nursing assistant at Resthaven until 2020, when I became a nurse at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Experiencing that transition firsthand shaped me into a resilient and compassionate caregiver.

Nursing has been both a career and a calling for me, allowing me to connect with people during some of the most important moments in their lives. I am passionate about providing patient-centered care and creating a sense of comfort and dignity for those I serve. I truly value building meaningful relationships with my residents, their families, and my coworkers.

Outside of work, I enjoy focusing on holistic wellness, spending time with my family, and finding peace in nature. I believe in caring for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and I bring that mindset into my nursing practice every day.

I am excited to be part of a brand-new team where we can grow together, support one another, and create a positive, family-like environment for both staff and residents.

Meet JenniferšŸ’™

Jennifer is a Registered Nurse who graduated and passed her NCLEX in 2009. During nursing school, she gained valuable hands-on experience working as a PCT/CNA at her local hospital, including time on a long-term care unit. After earning her RN, Jennifer worked on a Med-Surg/Pediatrics unit, where she also floated to CCU/ICU, ER, Orthopedics, OB, Psychiatry, and Long-Term Care units. Her dedication and leadership led her to a charge nurse role on the Med-Surg/Pediatrics unit.

Jennifer’s diverse background also includes experience in a family practice office, ambulatory surgery center, hospice care, and serving as a CNA instructor. Most recently, she worked as a Staff Development Coordinator for a Skilled Nursing Facility, where education and team support were a key focus of her role.

What Jennifer enjoys most about nursing is supporting residents and families during times of need and providing meaningful education. She is especially passionate about building strong, supportive teams and fostering a workplace culture that feels like family—where helping one another makes even the toughest days more manageable.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, pets, and friends. She and her husband, an aircraft mechanic, stay busy with their three children (ages 8, 12, and 13), along with two dogs and a cat. As a family, they love crafting, playing games, camping, traveling, and cheering on the Tigers and the Red Wings.
