Our Staff Development Team is making learning fun this week. Staff are participating in a Competency Fair this week in Carmel Hall. A Shout Out 👏to all of our staff for your commitment to participate in 📝competencies as we continue to fulfill our mission of providing care and services to the residents of Garvey Manor.

We were pleased to close our week long celebration with outdoor strolls where residents were able to see what was blooming outside☀️🪴complete with a gnome scavenger hunt!! In addition Grace Bible Church joined us for an afternoon puppet show . We certainly were able to embrace the theme this year as residents, families, staff and guests were able to enjoy a “ Moment in Bloom” throughout our campus. A shout out 👏to all who participated in the festivities and to the many helping hands that made it all happen. 💐💐💐💐

Residents certainly enjoyed a Moment in Bloom with a live floral arrangement program .💐 Thank you to the Pretty Little Posie of Martinsburg (and family) for joining us for this special event as we continue our celebration of Older Americans Week. Congratulations to 7 of our lucky residents who were randomly selected to take these arrangements with them at the end of the program 💐

🌸 Moments in Bloom 🌸

What a wonderful week Personal Care had celebrating Older Americans Week! Our residents enjoyed so many special “Moments in Bloom” together including Mother’s Day banana splits, creative art projects, colorful rock painting, an indoor picnic, a “guess who am I” game, coffee & donuts, and so much more. ☕🍌🎨🌼

Each activity gave us the opportunity to laugh, create memories, share stories, and celebrate the joy and wisdom our older adults bring to our community every day.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week so meaningful for our residents. Watching these moments bloom into smiles and connection was truly special. 💐

Our Core Values are in Full Bloom as our Mission Committee created a display in our chapel for our Older Americans Week celebration. All staff in all departments were encouraged to come to the chapel and offer a private intention for our core values : Hospitality, Shared commitment , Sanctity of Life and Compassion while placing a flower 🌺 into the corresponding vase. It has been great to see the core values bloom right in front of our eyes.
