WHY DOES STRESS END UP IN YOUR NECK & SHOULDERS?

Ever notice that when life gets stressful, your shoulders seem to creep toward your ears?

That’s not just in your head.

When we’re under stress, the nervous system can increase muscle tension as part of the body’s natural protective response. For many people, some of the first places they notice it are the neck, shoulders and jaw.

Muscles commonly involved include the upper trapezius, levator scapulae, suboccipitals and sternocleidomastoid (SCM).

Over time, persistent tension in these areas can contribute to stiffness, decreased comfortable movement and, in some people, tension-type headaches.

And here’s the important part:

Sometimes the place that HURTS isn’t the only place that needs attention.

Integrated massage allows me to look at the relationships between the neck, shoulders, upper back, jaw and surrounding muscles rather than simply working on one sore spot.

Your mind and your muscles are more connected than you might think!

Twenty years… it’s hard to put into words what that really means.

In 2006, we started Embrace Your Sisters from a place of love, fear, strength, and hope. We had no idea just how many lives it would touch, or how many people would step forward with open hearts to support it.
Today, I’m just incredibly grateful.
Grateful for every volunteer who has given their time, energy, and compassion.
Grateful for every person who has donated, attended, shared, supported, and believed in what EYS does.
Grateful for a community that continues to show up year after year! Now helping those in 13 Counties & over $800,000 donated to date!

This is our 20th anniversary… our 19th fashion show… and also marks 10 years since my sister, Chrisann passed, the reason this all began,
and because of all of you, her legacy continues in the most beautiful way, with EYS helping others like her to battle this diagnosis. What started as something so personal, has truly become something so much bigger because of all of you!

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU ALL for being part of it!❤️
I know she will be smiling down on me and everyone else today! 🩷🩵💚
