🍫🌺 Did you know Hawaiʻi is the only place in the United States where cacao can grow? 🌱 It all comes down to our unique latitude—nestled perfectly within the narrow tropical belt where cacao trees thrive 🌍☀️

Today we toured a cacao farm and saw firsthand how chocolate begins… from vibrant pods growing right on the tree to the rich, velvety treat we all love 🍃➡️🍫

There’s something so special about knowing this little piece of paradise can grow something so globally cherished 💛 It makes every bite of chocolate even more magical ✨

Grateful for days like this—learning, tasting, and soaking in the beauty of Hawaiʻi 🌈🌴

From classrooms to communities, keiki across Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi Island, and Maui are getting hands-on with hydroponics 🌿💧—learning how to grow fresh, nutritious food while building a deeper connection to what nourishes us.

At schools like Mililani High and Waipahu High, students are cultivating vibrant veggies 🥬🍅 and sharing their knowledge—reminding us that the future of food starts with education, curiosity, and care.

🌍 This March, we celebrated National Nutrition Month—a time to discover the power of making informed food choices and building healthy habits for life.

🤝 Even in the face of recent storms, our local farmers and communities have come together—demonstrating resilience, collaboration, and a deep commitment to Hawaiʻi’s food systems.

🌺 And through gatherings like the We Grow Hawaiʻi Youth Food Summit, our youth are stepping up—learning, leading, and shaping a more sustainable future rooted in ʻike (knowledge) and kuleana (responsibility).

Holiday hosting made easy with an Eat Pono inspired charcuterie board 🌿🧀🍇 It looks fancy, feeds a crowd, and you can totally build it with better-for-you bites without anyone noticing!

Our simple board formula:
🥒 crunch + color: cucumbers, pickles, carrots, berries, grapes
🧀 protein + creamy: your fave cheeses or a hummus/dip

Why it works:
🍓 strawberries = naturally sweet + packed with antioxidants
