🚨 Flu Activity Is Very High in Massachusetts — Take Action Now 🚨

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reports very high and rising flu activity statewide, with thousands sick, increased hospitalizations, and tragic losses — including three pediatric flu-related deaths and 29 adult deaths this season.

📍 What Hopkinton residents should know:

Flu cases are climbing rapidly during peak season.

COVID-19 and RSV are currently lower but beginning to rise.

Hospitals across the state are experiencing heavy demand.

đź’‰ Vaccination saves lives.
Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are recommended for everyone 6 months and older and can be given at the same visit. Vaccination is especially important for:

Adults 65+

Young children

Pregnant individuals

People with chronic conditions or weakened immune systems

🩺 If you feel sick:
Flu symptoms include fever, chills, body aches, fatigue, cough, and congestion. Antiviral medications like Tamiflu can reduce severity if started early — contact your health care provider promptly.

🛡️ Protect yourself and others:
âś” Stay up to date on vaccines
âś” Wash hands often
âś” Stay home if sick
âś” Cover coughs and sneezes
âś” Consider masking in crowded indoor spaces

Vaccines are covered by insurance and available at no cost for most residents in Massachusetts.
