Getting a few minutes of sunshine in the morning isn’t just about breathing in fresh air — it can actually help you sleep better at night!

Here’s why:

🌞 It helps regulate your circadian clock — which controls your body’s sleep-wake cycle.
🌞 People who get a few minutes of sun in the morning tend to burn more body fat and have a leaner physique than those who get their sunshine later in the day.
🌞 Morning sunlight helps your body release cortisol early in the day — which boosts your metabolism, ability to focus, and immune system.

☘️SHAMROCK SMOOTHIE BOWL☘️

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up and I’ve got a delicious smoothie bowl recipe that will make a perfect “lucky” breakfast.

☘️ Shamrock Smoothie Bowl (serves 1)

▪½ cup (115 g) plain low-fat Greek yogurt
▪¼ cup (60 ml) unsweetened milk of your choice
▪½ small frozen banana, sliced
▪¼ ripe avocado
▪1 handful baby spinach
▪¼ cup (50 g) frozen pineapple chunks
▪¼ cup (50 g) frozen blueberries
▪Optional sweetener: 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup
▪Optional toppings: sliced kiwi and shredded coconut

✅ Place all the ingredients except the optional toppings in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. The mixture will be thick – if you would like a thinner smoothie bowl, pour in a little more milk. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.

✅ Pour the smoothie mixture into a bowl and add the toppings if you’re using them.

Then… eat it before it melts. 😋

This may be a mental picture of what you will look like in your skinny jeans, the thought of how relieved you’ll be when the doctor gives you a clean bill of health, or the reaction that your friends and family will give once you reveal the new you.

Discover what motivates you the most then direct your focus there. Bring this thought to mind whenever you feel like giving up and going back to your unhealthy lifestyle. 🏆🏆🏆

Do you ever give up what you want MOST for what you want NOW?

Think about it... 🤔

If what you want most is to lose the weight—once and for all—but then you give in and order pizza for dinner, you’ve just given up what you want MOST (a healthier, leaner body) for what you wanted NOW (convenient and comforting food).

It’s worth thinking about.

Are your actions congruent with your goals?

This is true of any goal, it’s not limited to your fitness journey.

If you want to write a book, you’d better make time to sit down and type.

If you want to travel the globe, you’d better get yourself a passport.

If you want to run a marathon, you’d better start training.

If you want your kids to live a healthy life, you’d better model it for them.

If your actions don’t support your goal, then you’ll never accomplish it, and maybe you didn’t really want it.

Your actions will always dictate your results.

✅ Change out your creamy dressings for olive-oil-based dressings.

You really can’t go wrong with olive oil!

Not only does it make a great salad dressing, BUT…

👉 you can use it in almost any kind of cooking without it breaking down.
👉 extra virgin olive oil can help lower your blood pressure and fight inflammation.
👉 EVOO can help improve the health of your blood vessels, which is good for your heart.
👉 AND it’s packed with antioxidants, which ward off cell damage.

Here's a quick homemade dressing recipe to try:

NEVER FEAR!
I have 3 tips today that can really move the needle for you. 👏
TIP #1: Instead of focusing on external things like the scale, focus on what you have control over like your nutrition and exercise.
TIP #2: Ask yourself, “What would this look like if it was simple?” And then tweak your approach.
TIP #3: Reach out! Sometimes we can get so mired in our struggle that we can’t see the big picture. An outside view can help.

📣PSA: Staying up late, eating too much sugar, and skipping your workouts will NOT feel good!

I’m not saying you shouldn’t enjoy some treats and have some fun, but a whole month of festivities can leave you feeling… not very festive.

Here are 8 Reasons NOT to Slack This Month 👇

1. You could lose ground. Taking an extended break from your regular routine can mean losing some of your hard-won progress.

2. Staying healthy. Regular workouts and a healthy diet help boost your immune system — super important this time of year!

3. More stress. Being active helps lift your mood, lower your stress level, and battle anxiety.

4. Bad nights of sleep. When you’re not as active and/or overdoing it with food and beverages, it can put a damper on how much sleep you get — as well as your sleep quality.

5. Less energy. When you eat a nutritious diet and stay active, it raises your energy level.

6. Blood sugar swings. Eating sugary holiday treats can send your blood sugar up, giving you a quick boost of energy followed by a crash. Exercise helps regulate this.

7. Tummy Troubles. Overeating — or eating rich food — can be hard on your digestive system. Exercise can help boost your digestion.

8. You’ll lose momentum. Once you break a routine, it can be hard to get back into it. A better bet: if you can’t stick with your full routine, do a mini version of it so you stay in the habit.

Staying committed to health and fitness during December may require some effort, but it’s SO WORTH IT. 💯

Fit Results Boot Camp is a 30-minute indoor fitness boot camp for all levels ages 16 and up. FRBC gives you the opportunity to break away from a routine of either no exercise or simply going through the motions with your usual workout. Our sessions are considered more like group personal training sessions without the high cost.

Our facility-wide ability to capture data such as heart rate, calories burned, training zone and intensity (effort) takes our program to the next level above all others. Heart-rate monitors and wearable technology help you train at the right intensity based on your own body metrics.

Fit Results Boot Camp members also have access to personal fitness training, nutritional coaching, accountability coaching & lifestyle coaching.

Add to this mix the motivational qualities of our awesome trainers and coaches, the camaraderie of group training and the excitement of a new way to get and stay fit, and you have all the ingredients for a challenging fitness program that can elevate your fitness to a much higher level than you could achieve alone.
