Hot Springs National Park Rotary We meet Wednesdays 12:00 noon at
Lake Hamilton Ballroom
DoubleTree by Hilton
4813 Central Ave. Hot Springs, AR 71913, Arkansas.

Rotary connects 1.2 million members from more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Their work impacts lives at both the local and international levels, from helping families in need in their own communities to working toward a polio-free world. Polio Eradication Rotary is close to eliminating the second human disease in history after smallpox, with a 99 percent reduction in polio cases world

wide since 1985, when Rotary launched its PolioPlus program. In 1988, Rotary spearheaded the creation of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative with its partners the World Health Organization, UNICEF and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Polio eradication remains Rotary’s top priority. To date, Rotary has contributed more than US$1.2 billion and countless volunteer hours to help immunize more than two billion children against polio in 122 countries. Currently, Rotary is working to raise $35 million per year through 2018 for polio
eradication, which will be matched 2 to 1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

I heard through the grapevine that someone has Disco Fever and it may be contagious at our meeting this week. The only cure is dancing and laughing.

We are looking forward seeing some fun outfits for our meeting tomorrow.
Rumors I’ve heard of outfits:
Country Western
Christmas Elves
Ugly Sweaters
Disco duds
AND a bikini???

Look at all the happiness in these photos. We are beyond thrilled to be a part of what the Friends of the Hot Springs Community Resource Center has created. This is what our Rotary theme this year is all about, Unite For Good.

LET'S PARTY LIKE IT'S 1999.

We are near the end of our 2025-26 Rotary year and we have certainly had a ton of fun, camaraderie and accomplished so many great things. Several folks have commented about how much fun our recent Western day was and I know for a fact many of you went above and beyond when we were doing our Salvation Army bell ringing. And let's not forget wearing our favorite team jersey when we heard from our local high school teams or wearing green for St Patrick's day.

So to capture the opportunity of truly reliving our Rotary year as we hear our final Committee Reports about all we accomplished, I am declaring Wednesday June 24 as Rotary Committee Wrap Up Costume Day. So whether you want to experience a Summertime Christmas or Team Day or Western Day, let's make our last official weekly meeting one to remember.

Please join us as we say farewell to our Rotary year of 2025-26 and President Tim Metcalf and we welcome in our next President Justin Nicklas.

Our banquet is so much more than just ringing in a new Rotary year. It is a way to gather with our fellow Rotarians and their dates as we recap the year that was and look forward to the year that will be.

From my personal experience I can tell you it meant more than you can imagine to see the room filled with people there to show support to our outgoing President Sara Brown and to say "job well done" and to welcome me in as the new President.

I hope you can join us as we say adios to the year of Unite For Good and say hello to the year of Create Lasting Change. There is a lot of time and effort spent to arrive at the point of serving our cub as president, and I would love nothing more than to see the room filled to capacity with Rotarians there to welcome Justin as our next President and kick off his year of leading our club.

Please RSVP to Jackie at [email protected] so we have a seat for you.

Tim Metcalf

Remember to wear your Rotary gear as we serve at the City of Hot Springs Community Resource Center alongside Friends of the Hot Springs Community Resource Center this week. Whatever you have that says Rotary, whether a shirt, a cap or even those fan fave Rotary socks. Be like Chris!

James Frierson has issued a challenge to see much Rotary gear Rotarians associated with Hot Springs National Park Rotary have that they can wear to a Rotary event to show how much they love be a Rotarian. (lol)

Step 1 is mark this on your calendar.Step 2 is to RSVP to Jackie to save your seat.Step 3 come preared to have fun.

Here is your friendly reminder that we will be serving at the City of Hot Springs Community Resource Center this Wednesday (6/17) as our last serving project of the 2025-26 Rotary year. Please bring items from this list or the ever popular Walmart Gift Cards as your contribution to the Community Care Drive.

If you go to our normal meeting place you may not have anything to eat but those yummy Doubletree cookies. Actually, that sounds like a pretty good meal.

Great news for Hot Springs area homeschool students. We are starting a new Interact chapter specifically for students ages 12-18 that are homeschooled. The Interact Club of Hot Springs National Park is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 12 to 18. This Interact club is sponsored by Hot Springs National Park Rotary, which provides support and guidance, but Interact clubs are self-governing and self-supporting.

Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill. Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of :
Developing leadership skills and personal integrity
Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others
Understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work
Advancing international understanding and goodwill

As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 10,700 clubs in 109 countries and geographical areas, Interact has become a worldwide phenomenon. Almost 200,000 young people are involved in Interact and soon our local Hot Springs homeschool students will have the opportunity to serve alongside our Rotary sponsor club.

Hot Springs National Park Rotary currently sponsors Interact Clubs at Arkansas School For Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts and Hot Springs World Class High School.

Stay tuned for our Interact Information meeting coming up in July. Details coming soon.

At our June 10, 2026 meeting Interim Chamber & Hot Springs Metro Partnership President & CEO Cole McCaskill gave a quick update on all the recent happenings at The Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Cole shared that it is business as usual at the Chamber. The board and staff are healthy and working daily to serve the needs of its members and the community. Cole thanked Karol Bailes for her leadership and support.

At a recent City Board Meeting, McCaskill reported four new business leads were developed in May, and two new job creation files were started with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

He told city directors that HSMP is working with AEDC on 14 job creation files. HSMP met with eight businesses last month regarding retention and expansion. Cole shared that we have good businesses in Hot Springs that provide good jobs.

It is the foundation of economic development, and it is the job of the Hot Springs Metro Partnership and Chamber to make sure they're happy doing business here.
