What does compounded actually mean?

This is one of those things that’s worth understanding instead of just hearing the word and making an assumption.
“Compounded” doesn’t automatically mean better or worse. It means customized.

Think of it like this…
A manufactured medication is like buying a shirt off the rack.
A compounded medication is like having that shirt tailored to fit you.
One is manufactured as a standardized product. The other is prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy based on your healthcare provider’s prescription and your individual needs.
