Someone asked me if I’m neutral on misogyny and racism.
No.
I’m a therapist. I’m neutral about helping people explore their experiences. I’m not neutral about systems or behaviors that harm people.
Those are two different things.
I can hold compassion for people while still naming oppression when it’s present. In fact, I think that’s part of ethical, effective therapy.
If you’re looking for therapy that doesn’t ask you to pretend your lived experience doesn’t matter, you’re in the right place.
What do you think people get wrong about what “neutrality” means in therapy? 👇🏾
