New data reveal that 64% of physician practices are now owned by corporate entities, and 82% of doctors are employed by them. With stats like these, it would be easy to think we are nearing the end of private practice as we know it.

However, certain circumstances are leading many physicians to reevaluate the benefits of independence. In our latest blog, CareAllies Regional Vice President of Provider Engagement, Kathy Geletei, shares some of the top factors driving physicians back to private practice.

More than 80% of medical practices are now owned by corporate entities—but that doesn’t mean private practice is dead. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. CareAllies shares what factors are steering many physicians back into private practice.

On average, men die six years earlier than women, often from preventable causes. Closing this lifespan gap starts with education, connection, and shared advocacy.

When men have access to the right information, proper health care, and support from partners and loved ones, preventive care happens earlier, diseases are caught faster, and outcomes significantly improve.

This is the theme for Men's Health Month this year--and it's a good reminder that longer, healthier lives are built together through stronger awareness and engagement.

Thanks to CareAllies' Susan Harriger for presenting at last week's American Physician Groups (APG) spring conference In San Diego.

During the Case Studies in Excellence learning expo, attendees were given the opportunity to visit any or all of the 10 stations to listen to poster presentations and join small group discussions about each topic.

We are always thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase clinical programs that yield significant results and engage with attendees to answer questions, exchange best practices, and hear what others are accomplishing in their organizations.

Seniors often face unique mental health challenges that can dramatically impact their quality of life. Roughly 20% of older adults have some form of mental health disorder, with depression and anxiety being the most common. Isolation can compound the issue, leaving seniors at higher risk of poor health and premature death.

Mental Health Awareness month reminds us of just how critical emotional well-being is to our overall health, and how important it is to continuously check in with our most vulnerable populations to ensure they are getting the care and resources they need.

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of attending and presenting at the annual retreat of Constitution Physician Alliance, an independent physician association serving Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.

If there has been one consistent theme we’ve seen across all IPA retreats this year, it’s this: Prioritizing quality improvement is more important than ever. A strong and consistent quality-driven approach not only leads to success in other areas of practice, it significantly improves patient engagement and outcomes. In value-based care, healthier patients create resilient, thriving practices, and vice versa.

Thanks to all who attended and helped support this retreat, including our provider engagement, pharmacy, VBC nurse, and population health teams.

This week, we recognize National Nurses Week and the extraordinary impact of nurses, including our nurse team at CareAllies.

Every day, nurses work side by side with physicians and care teams to navigate the complexities of health care and make care more coordinated, proactive, and effective. They build trust, strengthen connections between patients and providers, and enable practices to succeed in patient care.

Thank you, nurses, for the difference you make every day!

This past weekend, Valley Organized Physicians, supported by CareAllies, held their 10th annual retreat in South Padre Island, TX.

The physician community gathered to discuss ways to improve the patient experience and clinical outcomes via value-based care strategies. Speakers discussed a variety of topics, including accurate documentation for visits, leveraging real-time population health insights, and building comprehensive care plans for patients with chronic conditions.

As always, we appreciate the opportunity to participate in these discussions and collaborate with physicians to help them achieve their goals. We look forward to a successful year!

We are just coming off an incredibly productive weekend in Galveston connecting with the doctors of Renaissance Physicians, an IPA serving patients in the greater Houston area.

CareAllies is grateful and proud to help support these types of client retreats, which allow everyone in attendance to have collaborative discussions about how to continue to advance the principles of value-based care by improving access, quality, utilization, and ultimately, patient outcomes. This is especially timely as outcome-driven measures are becoming increasingly important.

Thank you to all presenters, including physician speakers and CareAllies leadership, for your time and expertise!
