Seniors often face unique mental health challenges that can dramatically impact their quality of life. Roughly 20% of older adults have some form of mental health disorder, with depression and anxiety being the most common. Isolation can compound the issue, leaving seniors at higher risk of poor health and premature death.
Mental Health Awareness month reminds us of just how critical emotional well-being is to our overall health, and how important it is to continuously check in with our most vulnerable populations to ensure they are getting the care and resources they need.
