SPAthena MinxHouston is Houston’s home for healthy pedicures and happy feet, celebrated its eighth
anniversary in June of 2014. While the SPAthena name is relatively new, its founder and staff
are veteran practitioners with decades of experience and the most advanced training possible. SPAthena has expanded it's center to include medical skin therapist with Houston Skin Saver-Darlena Hernandez.
SPAthena specializes in working with at-risk customers such as Diabetics and many of its
clientele are doctor referred. Many respected doctors trust the quality care provided by
SPAthena’s technicians and their unique ability to recognize and refer special needs patrons. Perhaps equally important is SPAthena’s use of an aseptic & autoclave sterilization techniques. An autoclave
is a pressurized device used to sterilize metallic instruments; the apparatus is commonly used in
the medical profession. SPAthena employs an ANT and MNT on its staff. An ANT, or Advanced Nail Technician, studies
advanced sterilization techniques and learns about working with at-risk clients. An MNT, or
Medical Nail Technician, is the industry’s highest certification possible requiring additional
education and tutelage under a podiatrist’s supervision. AthenA Elliott, a 35-year industry veteran is a National Trainer for LCN-USA Barefoot and owns a five-star rated salon, SPAthena, in Houston Texas. She is creator of www.NailTalkRadiocom , a weekly 90-minute radio broadcast dedicated to the nail professional since 2010, as well as co-creator of the www.SafeSalonRating.com mobile app as seen on The DR OZ SHOW.. Elliott has been named “Nail Tech of the Year” by Nails Magazine along with numerous awards from the trade publications.
