They asked for pizza. 🍕
Instead, they got a colorful fruit platter and veggie crudités… and quickly realized that nutritious can be just as delicious. 🌈🥕🍓
One thing I try to teach my kids is that healthy eating isn’t something we do only when we’re home—it’s something we practice consistently, even on vacation.
Today we talked about what was actually on their plates:
🍓 Strawberries & pineapple provide vitamin C to support immunity.
🥕 Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which the body converts to vitamin A for eye health.
🫐 Berries contain antioxidants that help protect cells from oxidative stress.
🥒 Cucumbers provide hydration and fiber to support digestion.
I also want them to understand that food isn’t just about calories—it’s nutrition for the body. The more they learn about what different foods do, the more empowered they become to make healthy choices on their own.
And while fruits and vegetables are a great addition to any meal, we also make sure to prioritize protein. We started the day with a protein-rich breakfast. And because kids should be kids, we’ll get that pizza for dinner.
Vacation is about making memories, not abandoning healthy habits. Consistency beats perfection every time. ❤️
