This is after 4 Folix treatments — with noticeably less scalp show-through at the crown and improved overall density.

Folix is especially exciting for androgenetic alopecia (male and female pattern hair loss) because it targets an area where follicles are still present, but have progressively miniaturized under the influence of genetics and androgens including dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

The Folix fractional laser creates controlled micro-injury in the scalp, triggering regenerative signaling around the hair follicle and helping support the transition toward thicker, healthier hair growth.

And the crown is one of my favorite areas to treat because even a modest increase in hair shaft thickness and density can make a big difference in how much scalp you see.

Four treatments. Same crown. Much less scalp showing. 🙌

This is my own hair growth progress after 4 Folix treatments, and I’m super excited about what I’m seeing:

✨ New baby hairs filling in along my frontal hairline
✨ Noticeably more growth throughout my part
✨ And the biggest difference for me: much fuller temples

Hair growth is slow—which is exactly why progress photos matter. Those tiny new hairs may not look dramatic day-to-day, but over several months, they can translate into a very real difference in density.

Folix uses a non-ablative fractional laser to create controlled micro-injury in the scalp, stimulating the release of growth factors that reactivate dormant hair follicles. And unlike treatments you have to remember every single day, Folix is performed once a month in the office, typically as a series of treatments.

I recommend it to my patients, but I also use it myself—and after treatment #4, I’m officially impressed. 💫

Now the hard part: patiently waiting for all those baby hairs to grow up. 😂

Her temples are filling back in.

This is the kind of change we’re seeing with Folix laser treatments in patients with androgenetic alopecia (female pattern hair loss).

So how does Folix work?

Folix uses non-ablative fractional laser energy delivered directly to the scalp. The treatment creates controlled microthermal zones designed to stimulate the scalp and hair follicles, supporting the transition of follicles into the active anagen (growth) phase and promoting thicker, healthier-appearing hair.

Why can this work for androgenetic alopecia?

In androgenetic alopecia, genetically susceptible follicles gradually miniaturize over time. Each growth cycle can produce a finer, shorter hair—until areas like the part, crown, and temples begin to look noticeably thinner.

Folix is designed to target these underperforming follicles and stimulate renewed growth. And unlike treatments that require daily application or medication, treatments are performed only once a month for 4-6 months, followed by 1-2 maintenance treatments per year.

This patient’s temple regrowth is especially exciting because the before-and-after difference is visible where she needed it most. 🙌

Hair loss isn’t always something you just have to accept. The key is identifying the cause and treating it appropriately—and earlier intervention can matter.

1. Seed oils are healthier than ghee, coconut oil, and beef tallow.

2. You’re wasting your time chasing longevity hacks if you haven’t first reduced your alcohol intake or quit to***co.

3. Alcohol increases cancer risk. Processed meat does too. Yet somehow people spend more time worrying about seed oils and food dyes.

4. Most people don’t need a protein shake immediately after their workout.

5. Fasting isn’t just for men. Most healthy adults can incorporate fasting safely, though some people require medical supervision. This includes perimenopausal women.

6. Sleeping less than 7 hours a night is one of the worst things you can do for your health.
