Our programs create pathways for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to explore interests, develop skills, and achieve personal milestones. Camp Pursuit is back, and the smiles say it all 💙

Recently, we were able to bring back Camp Pursuit for a special Saturday filled with friendship, activities, laughter, and community for our clients with IDD. This incredible day was made possible by the generosity of donors and the dedication of our amazing volunteers, who gave their time and hearts to make the experience unforgettable.

This weekend reminded us just how meaningful these opportunities are for the individuals and families we serve. Thank you to everyone who helped make Camp Pursuit possible once again. Together, we are creating spaces where everyone belongs.

Juan came to the McNair Employment Center motivated and ready to work, with a clear goal in mind: “My dream job is to work at the zoo.” 🦒

Today, Juan is living that dream as a valued team member at the Houston Zoo.

From mopping and sweeping to wiping down tables, stocking condiments, and even operating the pizza oven, Juan takes pride in every part of his role at Cypress Circle Café and Jack’s Café.

With the support, guidance, and coaching of the McNair Employment Center, Juan has turned his goal into reality, showing what’s possible with determination and the right support system in place.
