🌍 Featured in our Center of Excellence Spotlight Series is Baylor College of Medicine Children's Foundation Uganda 🇺🇬

Established in 2006, this COE supports integrated health services across 67 districts and 4 cities throughout Uganda. In partnership with Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital, Uganda’s Ministry of Health, and local governments, Baylor Foundation Uganda reached over 10.5 million people in FY2024/25 through HIV/AIDS, TB, RMNCAH, sickle cell disease, and public health programs. Their work also helped support over 300,000 people on HIV treatment with a 95% viral suppression rate. 💙✨ Swipe to learn more about the incredible impact they are making across Uganda!

The Texas Children’s Global Cancer and Hematology program, anchored by Global HOPE, partners with Ministries of Health to strengthen systems and expand access to comprehensive care for children with cancer and blood disorders.

The opening of the Pediatric Outpatient Center and Hope Hostel at Kenyatta National Hospital represents an important step forward—creating a safe, supportive space for children and families receiving care.

COE Spotlight – Tanzania 🇹🇿

For over two decades, Baylor Tanzania 🇹🇿 has delivered lifesaving care to infants, children, and adolescents. With Centers of Excellence in Mwanza and Mbeya, their team addresses HIV, TB, malnutrition, cancer, and more 🩺

Their outreach reaches 187 facilities across 15 regions, strengthening health systems and expanding access to care across the country 💙🌍

A healthier planet means healthier people! 🌎♻️ On this , we’re reminded that sustainable environments are essential to strong, resilient communities.

Our permaculture garden at Area 25 Health Centre at Baylor College of Medicine Children's Foundation - Malawi supports women staying at the maternal waiting home by promoting nutrition, sustainable agriculture, and water-smart design. 🌱🇲🇼

Through daily learning and hands-on practice, women gain skills they can take back to their communities—helping improve health and livelihoods beyond the facility.

🌍 We’re excited to join leaders from across the continent at the 16th biennial congress of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology in Africa (SIOP Africa) in Lagos, April 13–17, 2026.

With the theme “Building Collaborative Networks for Pediatric Oncology Across Africa,” Texas Children’s Global Health Network is proud to support more than 25 delegates from Malawi, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Botswana as they present their work advancing childhood cancer care.

Together, we continue strengthening partnerships and improving outcomes for children. 💗🩺✨

🌍 Highlights from CUGH 2026!

It was an inspiring week connecting with global partners, including Keith Martin, and reconnecting with former Pediatric AIDS Corps and Global Health Corps colleagues during a special Washington, DC meet-and-greet.

Our Network was proud to contribute to the panel “Safeguarding Children: Front-Line Realities in a Changing Funding Landscape,” featuring Ms. Sonali Korde, Dr. Dithan Kiragga, Dr. Lineo Thahane, Dr. Mogomotsi Matshaba, Dr. Heather Haq, and Dr. Anna Mandalakas.

Together, we continue advancing innovative, collaborative solutions to improve child health globally. 💗🩺✨
