✨ Celebrating Lily! ✨

We are so excited to welcome Lily back to Mission Control Therapy after her recent hospital stays. 💜

When Lily first started with us, she was not yet rolling or sitting independently. Through her hard work and her family’s incredible dedication, she made HUGE gains before her surgery with our amazing txcleft team at UTHealth Pediatric Surgery

Supported by our UTHealth Cleft & Craniofacial team, UTHealth Pediatric Neurosurgery, and our PMDC team, Lily continues to show us what resilience looks like.Her return this week was a bright reminder of why we do what we do, and we are so grateful to celebrate her journey.

💔 In Loving Memory of Dr. Stacey Hall

It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our friend, colleague, mentor, and physician, Dr. Stacey Hall.

Dr. Hall was an extraordinary pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation physician who dedicated her career to improving the lives of children with disabilities and their families. She was a trusted advocate, leader, teacher, and source of support for countless patients, families, and colleagues throughout her career.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Dr. Hall experienced her deep compassion, unwavering integrity, and unwavering determination. She believed every child deserved the opportunity to reach their fullest potential and worked tirelessly to remove barriers to care, secure critical services and equipment, and ensure her patients received the support they needed. Her advocacy changed lives, and her impact extends far beyond the walls of our clinic.

Dr. Hall was also a gifted educator and mentor who generously shared her knowledge with students, trainees, therapists, physicians, and fellow healthcare professionals. Through those she taught and inspired, her influence will continue for generations to come.

Above all, Dr. Hall was devoted to her family. She often spoke with great pride about her son and demonstrated through her actions that true success is measured not only by professional accomplishments but by the love and care we give to those closest to us. He was her world.

The loss of Dr. Hall is immeasurable. While her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, her legacy lives on in every child she helped, every family she encouraged, every student she taught, and every colleague she inspired.

We are deeply grateful for the privilege of working alongside her and witnessing the difference she made each day. As we mourn this tremendous loss, we will work as a team to make sure all patients well are supported.

Please keep Dr. Hall's family, friends, patients, and all who loved her in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Camp Smiles begins in 3 WEEKS! They still have spots available for campers AND volunteers! Come join the fun at our accessible overnight camp for children and teens with cerebral palsy and other similar conditions!🏕️🌳

Camp Smiles Info:
• June 28th-July 3rd (overnight)
• Location: Camp for All (Burton, TX)
• Kids have the opportunities to participate in a variety adventure activities (including zip-lining, rock climbing, canoeing, fishing, archery, photography, swimming, and more)

Camper Info:
• For kids ages 6-15 years old with cerebral palsy (or similar neurological disorders)
• Must not require a g-tube/button
• Comfortable and safe in a group setting

Volunteer Info:
• June 27th-July 3rd (overnight)
• Location: Camp for All (Burton, TX)
• Volunteers will be paired up with a camper for the week and will be expected to maintain safety for the campers, assist with camp activities, and assist with daily living activities (feeding, toileting, bathing, changing, etc.).
• Must be a minimum of 16 years old

Check out Carter’s story! We are so proud of the gains he is making every day! UTHealth Pediatric Surgery

Born with a rare genetic condition causing uncontrollable movements, 17-year-old Carter Felix spent much of his life fighting to do everyday tasks like walking, writing, and even holding a utensil. After years of searching for answers, his family connected with UT Physicians, where a team of specialists listened and explored every possible option. Together, they developed a highly complex treatment plan including a rare pediatric deep brain stimulation procedure designed to help regulate his movements.

“Although DBS sounds scary, it is reversible and can significantly help children move more smoothly when done with the right neurologist-neurosurgeon team,” said Manish Shah, MD, a pediatric neurosurgeon at UT Physicians.

The results have been life-changing. Today, Carter is now moving with greater control, greater independence, and even joining his school golf team. His progress has exceeded expectations and is opening doors once thought out of reach.
