What does it actually mean to rewire our thoughts and decrease triggers? How do we change a pattern? 🧠🧐
Metacognition describes the phenomenon of not only becoming aware of our thinking patterns, but stopping the circuitry in real time in order to re-route the pattern.
This is a process that we are ALL capable of doing because our minds are built for neuroplasticity. This means that by changing our thinking patterns overtime after observing them in real time, we can create real structural changes in the brain that translate over to our mind.
Often it’s easier said than done. 😵💫 Change takes time and requires repetition. 💪 just like working out a muscle!
Science shows that we are capable of changing a pattern in as little as 60 days. Some argue it may be even less than that. What do you think?
