Amazing Place

Amazing Place Empowering Families Facing the Challenges of Dementia and Alzheimer's. Advancing Brain Health for All. Morning coffee/juice and snacks are also served.

Amazing Place's Dementia Day Program is led by a highly professional and compassionate staff that quickly recognizes the individual needs and abilities of our participants. The center is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Both participants and caregivers have the option to select a schedule that best suits their needs. Located in the heart of Houston, the center provides a joyful envi

ronment of acceptance allowing all family members peace of mind. Amazing Place offers a variety of activities that build cognitive skills that can offset the effects of Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias. Our safe and welcoming environment encourages friendships, social activities, exercise and education. All staff and volunteers passionately promote self-efficacy. Our chef prepares a delicious and well thought out three-course lunch each day strictly following the guidelines of MPN (Memory Preservation Nutrition). Special events, like birthdays, are celebrated as a group and festive parties are planned for the holidays. Virtual classes and other online programming are available for those that cannot attend in person or prefer a hybrid solution customized to their unique needs. At Amazing Place, the Connections Program is devoted to supporting the well-being of our caretakers and community at large by offering a variety of classes and in-person services. Our mission is to empower lives disrupted by dementia. Amazing Place is a state-licensed, faith based non-profit organization governed by a board of directors with representatives from 16 Houston area churches.

Early detection of Alzheimer's now seems more possible than ever with the FDA approval of a new blood test developed by Roche and Eli Lilly. https://www.cnn.com/2026/08/24/health/alzheimers-blood-test-fda

While this breakthrough offers a faster path to answers, lifestyle intervention remains a powerful tool in fighting dementia. At Amazing Place, we see firsthand how daily socialization, a brain-healthy diet, and consistent routine support cognitive health and well-being for older adults with mild to moderate dementia.

Combating dementia takes a full circle of care, from advanced medicine to active, engaging lifestyle habits!

The US Food and Drug Administration has cleared Roche and partner Eli Lilly’s blood test to help identify signs of Alzheimer’s disease in people age ‌55 and older with cognitive decline.

A big thank you to our Central Day Program families giving us such great reviews! 💙

In our recent survey, 95% of caregivers gave us a 95% approval rating and more than 90% would recommend our Day Program to other families.

Additionally, survey participants cited improvements in their loved ones’ cheerfulness, withdrawn behavior and depression symptoms. Our caregivers also noted positive changes in their own behaviors, including improvement in their patience as well as an uptick in their sense of humor and cheerfulness.

If you are interested in our Day Program at Central or West, we currently have openings at both campuses. Visit our website to learn more and schedule a tour to come in and see for yourself!
