You drink water every day, but how much do you really know about whatโ€™s coming out of your tap? ๐Ÿ’ง

Water quality can vary depending on where you live, your local water system, and even the plumbing in your home.

Depending on the source, tap water may contain different contaminants or byproducts that can become part of your everyday environmental exposure.

That doesnโ€™t mean you need to panic or stop drinking your tap water. It means knowing more about your water can help you make better decisions about filtration and reducing unnecessary exposure.

One helpful place to start is the EWG Tap Water Database. You can enter your ZIP code at ewg.org/tapwater to learn more about contaminants reported in your local water supply.

And if you want to understand more about what may be showing up in your body, Heights of Health also offers a Total Tox Burden Test that can look at environmental toxins, mold toxins, and heavy metals.

Knowing whatโ€™s around you and what your body may be carrying can give you a clearer picture of where to focus your next steps.

๐Ÿ’ง Check your local water, review your filtration, and talk with Heights of Health if you want to learn more about your personal toxin burden.

If you wanted to reduce everyday toxin exposure at home, where would you even start?

The good news is you don't need to throw everything away or completely change your lifestyle.

Start by paying attention to a few everyday areas, like cleaning products, synthetic fragrances, plastic food storage, indoor air, and the water you use every day.

Small choices can add up, and one thoughtful swap is better than trying to change everything at once.

Swipe through, choose ONE area you'd like to look at this week, and save this post for your next home reset.

Happy Labor Day!

Today is a good reminder that rest is not a reward. It is part of taking care of your health.

Whether you spend the day with family, catching up on sleep, getting outside, or simply slowing down, give yourself permission to pause. Our bodies and minds need space to recover, reset, and heal.

At Heights of Health, we believe wellness is not only about what you do. It is also about how well you rest, restore, and support yourself along the way.

Wishing you a peaceful and restorative Labor Day. ๐Ÿค

What if you could stop guessing which toxins your body may be dealing with? ๐Ÿ‘€

At Heights of Health, functional medicine testing can help us look more closely at your individual toxin burden.

Our Total Tox Burden Test can look for:

โ€ข Environmental toxins and chemicals
โ€ข Mold mycotoxins
โ€ข Heavy metals

Knowing what shows up on your results can give you and your practitioner a clearer picture of where you may need to limit specific exposures and how to personalize your wellness plan.

Testing can also be useful during a detox program, giving you another way to track your progress over time instead of relying on guesswork alone.

Curious about what toxin testing could reveal for you? Ask your Heights of Health practitioner about functional medicine testing or learn more here: https://www.heightsofhealth.com/services/functional-medicine-testing

Sonyaโ€™s morning routine is not built around perfection.

It is built around a few practices that help her feel more grounded, energized, and intentional before the workday begins.

She spends time outside, walks her dogs, drinks water, reflects on gratitude, eats a nourishing breakfast, and tries to keep her first interaction with messages brief.

The most useful part of her routine may not be any single habit.

It is the way the habits fit naturally into activities already present in her life.

Her dogs create a reason to go outside. Her walk creates time for movement and reflection. Breakfast becomes an opportunity to nourish herself before work.

A supportive routine often becomes easier when it connects with the life you already have.

Which one of Sonyaโ€™s six habits would fit most naturally into your morning?

What if part of your healing journey involves looking beyond the physical symptoms?

In this episode of The Shift Podcast, Heidi and Dr. Vohn sit down with Tracy Southwick, traditional naturopath and founder of Heights of Health, to explore the connection between emotions, past experiences, and physical well-being.

Tracy shares her own journey through chronic illness and how it eventually led her from aerospace engineering into natural health. The conversation also explores:

โ€ข How emotional experiences may influence the way we feel physically
โ€ข Why we can become deeply identified with symptoms or illness
โ€ข The role of thoughts, language, and emotional patterns
โ€ข Tracyโ€™s approach to muscle testing and emotional release
โ€ข The Mind Body Spirit Release technique she developed

Itโ€™s a thoughtful conversation about looking at health through a wider lens and becoming more aware of the connection between mind, body, and personal experience.

Heather has several wellness practices she enjoys, including meditation, breathing exercises, affirmations, and intentional reflection.

But on mornings when time is limited, she simplifies.

Her minimum practice is just a few minutes of sitting quietly, closing her eyes, and breathing deeply into her belly.

That flexibility is important.

A routine should not become another reason to criticize yourself. Some mornings may allow twenty minutes. Other mornings may only allow two.

The practice can still count.

What matters is creating a brief opportunity to pause, notice your internal state, and begin the day with greater intention.

Save this Reel for the next morning when you feel rushed.
