Health is not only biological.
It is relational.
We now understand more clearly that isolation, loneliness, lack of belonging, and chronic disconnection can affect both mental and physical health.
But the opposite is also true.
Meaningful connection can be protective.
Not superficial connection. Not performative socializing.
Real connection.
Being known. Being heard. Being supported. Having someone to call. Feeling that your presence matters.
Lifestyle medicine includes social connection as a core pillar because health does not happen in isolation.
Yoga philosophy and Ayurvedic lifestyle principles have long emphasized relationship too. The yamas offer an ethical framework for how we live with others: non-harming, truthfulness, wise use of energy, non-grasping, and integrity.
Connection is not always about expanding our network.
Sometimes it is about deepening one relationship.
Who helps you feel more grounded, more honest, and more yourself?
