Ten weeks ago, I walked into surgery with SO many emotions: excitement, gratitude, nerves, and the hope that this would finally close the chapter on the physical weight my body had carried for so long.
Today, I got to sit down and record a podcast episode with the woman who helped bring this transformation to life: my incredible surgeon, Rukmini Rednam, M.D. 🥹 What a full-circle moment.
Recovery has required patience, surrender, and a whole new kind of strength. There have been swollen days, exhausting days, incision setbacks…
But then I look at these at these two versions of me side by side.
The me on the left had already fought so hard to change her life. She had lost 120 pounds, carried and raised four babies, and learned to believe that she was called into and worthy of taking this final step.
The me on the right is still healing, but she’s standing taller, feeling stronger, and learning to love the evidence of everything she survived. My scars aren’t something I need to hide. They tell the story of a body that carried me through obesity, motherhood, massive weight loss, and now rebuilding.
I’m deeply grateful to Dr. Rednam and her team for caring for me so beautifully… and to God, who opened every door and carried me through every part of this story 🥰
I cannot wait for you to hear our conversation and learn more about what this full journey has really looked like in a nutshell.
If you could ask Dr. Rednam or me ONE question about skin removal surgery or recovery, what would it be? Drop it below!👇
