With over 15 years of experience as a licensed Clinical Social Worker, Margot works at the intersection of the evidence-based and the deeply human – which makes the Center for Healing Arts and Sciences feel to her, something like home. Margot came to therapeutic work the way most people come to things that matter- partly by choice, partly by inheritance.

Her training at Houston’s Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center in various evidence-based approaches have prepared her to work in depth not only with veterans, first responders, and survivors of trauma, but also with adult children of dysfunctional families, and those living with the effects of parental neglect and complex trauma. She brings that same rigor and care to anyone navigating the tender terrain of grief, addictions, spiritual questioning, intimacy, or the aftermath of psychedelic experiences that changed them.

Margot earned her MSW at the University of Houston and certificate in Psychedelic Therapies and Research from The California Institute of Integral Studies.

Margot is now accepting new clients at The Center for HAS!

The queens have been too hard to find. It's time to come out from hiding. We need you to stop convincing yourself you’re not who you think you are. We need your healthy leadership. We need your creativity. We need your inner beauty and your outer light. We need your nurturing and we need your fierceness. We need your courage to go through this process of rewilding yourselves to move through the ranks - no matter how many lifetimes it takes - so that you, so that everyone, can become a queen, a mentor, a leader, an initiator of more queens.

Wednesday, June 24th at 6:00pm you may think you’re coming to discuss a powerful book (written by a queen of queens), and you are. But that’s not all. You’re being called to join the ranks. To stand tall as you can when you’re standing and rest deeply as you can when you’re resting. To live into this calling.

Think of fascia as the body's internal web—connecting everything from head to toe. Acupuncture works with this interconnected system, helping to ease restriction, promote circulation, and create space for the body to return to its natural state of harmony.

Explore acupuncture and different modalities with our Summer Discovery Package! Give us a call at (713)526-4444 to learn more!

Most people think of fascia as connective tissue.

But what if it is also a listening tissue?

A living web that responds to stress, emotion, movement, posture, breath, touch, vibration, and even the stories we carry.

When fascia becomes restricted, we often feel it as stiffness, tension, fatigue, discomfort, or a sense that something just feels “stuck.”

When it becomes hydrated, responsive, and adaptable, many people experience greater ease, fluidity, and resilience.

The more I study fascia, the less it seems like a simple structure and the more it feels like a conversation taking place throughout the entire body.

Perhaps healing is not always about fixing.

Sometimes it is about listening.

We’re continuing our Food as Medicine Friday series with another beautiful, cooling green soup! This one is made with tons of hydrating & nutrient dense veggies like zucchini, celery, leaks, green peas, and more!
Cool the heat, while protecting your digestion ☀️
That's the motto we are living by during this climate, seasonal shift into summer. Summer is a season to favor foods that are hydrating, lightly cooked & refreshing, and supportive of the heart and fluids. These ingredients are often used to help clear excess heat and support balance during the hotter months.

Juneteenth
A day commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrating the resilience, contributions, and enduring strength of Black communities.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom, dignity, and belonging are essential to individual and collective well-being. It is a day for remembrance, education, celebration, and reflection on the ongoing work of creating communities where all people can thrive.

We hold gratitude for those who came before, honor the stories that continue to shape our nation, and celebrate the rich culture, wisdom, and contributions of Black Americans.

Our community is the heart and soul of everything we do here at The Center 🙏

Community isn't just about gathering together, it's about being witnessed, supported, and reminded that you don't have to navigate life's transitions alone.

At the Center, we believe healing, growth, creativity, and self-discovery happen most powerfully in connection with others. Whether you join us for yoga, meditation, creative expression, sound healing, or meaningful conversation, each offering is an invitation to return to yourself while being held by community.

Thank you for being part of this space and helping create a place where belonging can flourish.
