🇺🇸In between tending to the needs, expectations of others and replaying the moments of yesterday, anticipating a conversation that may take place tomorrow; our innerworld becomes occupied by others.
We may be sitting quietly in our homes, yet often we are somewhere else.
With them.
In that conversation.
In that unfinished moment.
This is one of the quieter ways we abandon ourselves. And this is not a self-love problem. Our attention, energy and nervous systems are constantly available to the outside.
Perhaps it is time we shift our question of ‘do I make time for myself?’, to ‘am I actually here when I am with myself?’.
What would it feel like to stay with yourself for the next minute?
The ‘return’ is a practice.✨
Whenever you find yourself disappearing into someone’s needs, a conversation, a worry or an imaged future; instead of criticising yourself simply notice.
‘Ah. I’ve left myself’.
Then:
Feel your body.
Look around.
Take one breath.
And come back.
It’s not about never leaving yourself.
It’s about becoming someone who knows how to return home to themselves.
1. Feel your feet:
Without changing anything just notice where your feet touching the floor.
“I am here”
2. Exhale and let one breath arrive:
This is not a breathing exercise, just notice.
“I am breathing”
3. What is happening in my body right now?
Not why, not what should I do.
Just “what is here?”
4. Find three sensations:
Warmth, tightness, tingling, softness, heaviness etc.
Let your attention move from the story into your body.
5. Look around softly:
Let your eyes land on objects around you.
Notice the color, shape, texture, light.
6. When you are doing something ordinary, actually do only that!
Drinking tea? Taste it.
Showering? Feel the water.
Walking? Feel your movement.
🫂May you always find your way back to yourself with ease✨
🇹🇷Bir yanda başkalarının ihtiyaçları, beklentileriyle ilgilenirken, diğer yanda dünün anlarını veya yarın gerçekleşebilecek bir konuşmayı şimdiden zihnimizde oynatırken, fark etmeden iç dünyamız başkalarıyla dolup taşar.
Evimizde sessizce otururken bile çoğu zaman aslında zihnimizde başka bir yerdeyiz
Keşke şöyle deseydim dediğimiz bir konuşmada, b
