Hospitals can feel intimidating for anyone, but for children, all the unfamiliar sights, sounds and procedures can be especially scary.

To help soothe anxiety and empower young patients, we hosted a Teddy Bear Clinic for the pediatric ICU at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Our kiddos put on their imaginary doctor coats and took care of their teddy bear friends by checking heartbeats, applying bandages and helping their bears feel better.

Creative play like this can help young patients understand more about their own procedures and offer an outlet to express their concerns in a supportive and safe environment.

This National Grief Awareness Day, we hold close in our hearts the families who carry the love and memory of a child with them always.

The Russell Family stayed at Ronald McDonald House while their son, Noah, was hospitalized. Their journey did not have the ending anyone hoped for, but their love for Noah continues — in the memories they cherish, the stories they share and the ways they keep him close to their hearts.

We are humbled that Ronald McDonald House is part of the Russell Family’s story and remains a connection to a time when their family was together, surrounded by care and support.

Happy International Dog Day! 🐾

We all know the joy a four-legged visitor can bring to a child in the hospital. But parents and caregivers could use a little furry love, too.

That’s why our Ronald McDonald House inside Texas Children’s Hospital has introduced Wagging Wednesdays with Faithful Paws Pet Therapy and Paws for Therapy. Each Wednesday, therapy dogs visit our House to share some love with the parents and caregivers who spend their days at their child’s bedside.

When you’re giving your child comfort, security and unconditional love, it feels pretty wonderful to get a little of that in return.

What a day! This morning, our families woke up to McDonald’s breakfast sandwiches and apple pie- and a blowout bash to celebrate our forever partner, McDonald's Houston.

We invited restaurant owners and crew members from the 18 Greater Houston area McDonald’s that generated the most Round Up donations to Holcombe House so they could see firsthand the impact of their efforts.

We had so much fun dancing , playing and painting together- and we can’t wait to do it again. Thanks a Million!!

At our Ronald McDonald House inside Texas Children’s Hospital, there’s a bulletin board that tells some very big stories through very little moments.

When you have a hospitalized infant, every milestone matters. A little more milk. A good night. Weight gained. One less tube. A tiny step closer to home.

Parents and caregivers can add those moments to our board on sticky notes and share photos of their babies. It’s more than a bulletin board – it’s where our families, staff and volunteers celebrate progress, share hope, and remind each other that they’re not alone.

For NICU families, days can be long and isolating. Some parents rarely leave their baby’s side except to sleep. These small opportunities for connection can mean so much.

Baby Theo's parents stayed at Holcombe House for 122 nights during his treatment at Texas Children's Hospital. We are so pleased to see the family thriving and are humbled to have played a small role in their medical journey.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a clinic on wheels that delivers healthcare directly to underserved communities in Houston. From much-needed mental health services to childhood vaccinations, the Care Mobile meets families exactly where they are with compassionate, high-quality care. Operated in partnership with Texas Children's, the Care Mobile has been serving the city for more than 25 years.
