I had such a fantastic weekend with my super dear friend Shelly Poteet Elliott! She taught me the art of stained glass in basically 2 days!!! I'm blown away at her talent and she's a wonderful teacher! Love you dearest!

Tomorrow's the day!!! No call yesterday, so that means surgery is really really on! Today I'm packing for the hospital. Tell me your best "don't forget to pack" items! Because I'll forget everything and pack 8 shirts and no pants. 😅

This is my surgeon and his medical team. 🫶

I’ve always been open about my Christian faith and how it shapes the purpose I bring to medicine.

Recently a comment suggested that this somehow means certain patients aren’t welcome. That is simply false.

My faith is personal. It has nothing to do with who I care for.

Every patient — Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, atheist, or any other background — receives the same skill, attention, and commitment from me and the entire SASpine team.

This standard is not optional. It is bound by medical ethics and the Hippocratic Oath, which requires us to treat every patient equally, without regard to religion, race, or background.

If a patient asks me to pray with them, I will. The patient is always the one who initiates any spiritual discussion. There is never pressure, never expectation, and never a condition attached to care.

Our entire clinic staff shares this same commitment to universal, respectful care.

Medicine does not sort people by religion. We sort by pathology, imaging, and what will actually help the patient heal.

Our doors are open to every patient who needs spine care. That has never changed and will not change.
