🏆 Virginia is Back at It Again! 🏆

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our Virginia team for receiving the 2026 Making the Difference Award!

This recognition was presented by Matt Olson with DARS and Principal Miller of SECEP Chesapeake, and it reflects the tremendous impact being made every day by two exceptional leaders: Michelle and Loria.

Together, Michelle and Loria have built and managed outstanding Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and Work Experience Services throughout Virginia. They are constantly evaluating, improving, and strengthening services to ensure students receive the highest quality support and opportunities for success.

What makes them truly special is that they lead with both their hearts and their minds. They are deeply committed not only to the students and families we serve, but also to the contractors, educators, employers, and community partners who help make these programs possible. Their dedication, initiative, and unwavering belief in the potential of every student have helped create life-changing opportunities across the Commonwealth.

We could not be more proud of the work they do, the relationships they build, and the difference they make every single day.

Bloom Consulting’s FREE Summer Camp is heading to American Fork, and we are SO excited to create an unforgettable week of growth, confidence, career exploration, and community for students with disabilities! 💙🧡

This isn’t just another summer program. Our camps are designed to help students ages 14–21 who receive Special Education or 504 services build real-world skills through hands-on experiences, job exploration, self-advocacy, volunteer opportunities, and individualized support.

Students will have the opportunity to:
✅ Explore careers & workplaces
✅ Build independence and confidence
✅ Develop social & workplace skills
✅ Gain real-world community experience
✅ Receive personalized 1:1 support and coaching

This past weekend was Logan’s very first day starting his paid work experience at Yummy Bakery, and we are so excited for him as he begins this new journey! 💼✨

Logan is paired with Ms. Jennifer, who will be supporting him throughout his work experience as he builds workplace skills, confidence, and independence through hands-on learning opportunities.

This opportunity feels even more special because Logan’s brother, Keith, successfully participated in our paid work experience program last summer and will now be moving on to college! 🎓👏 Seeing students and families continue to grow and succeed through these opportunities is exactly why this work matters so much.

We are so excited to share that every student attending this summer’s virtual college preparation camp will now receive a FREE Birkman Method Assessment as part of their experience! 🙌

The Birkman Method is an incredibly powerful tool that helps students better understand:

Miguel is currently a senior and the only student selected from Chesapeake SECEP to participate in this paid work experience opportunity — such an incredible accomplishment! 👏

He has officially started working at Edgewood Outfitters, where he is gaining hands-on experience, building workplace confidence, and continuing to develop valuable job skills that will support his future success. 💼✨
