Avondale Health & Rehab is proud to celebrate 250 years of America — and you’re invited to join us!

Come celebrate Independence Day with us on Friday, June 26th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM for an afternoon filled with music, refreshments, and patriotic fun. Together, we’ll honor the spirit of our nation while recognizing the veterans and community members who make it so special.

This milestone reminds us of 250 years of freedom, courage, and unity. We are deeply grateful to the brave men and women who have made these freedoms possible, and to the residents, staff, and families who continue to make our Avondale community feel like home every single day.

Let’s come together to celebrate our country, our history, and each other. We are proud of the community we’ve built and even prouder to share this special day with all of you.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

At Avondale, we are proud to serve and care for many veterans and families who carry forward the legacy of courage, commitment, and sacrifice. Today, we remember, reflect, and express our deepest gratitude.

Their service will never be forgotten.

Day 5 was one for the books! 🌸

Our “Fancy in the Garden” day brought out the best in floral styles and dressed-up smiles. We spent the afternoon enjoying each other’s company with a cookout that truly hit the spot.

A huge thank you to our Maintenance Director Tony Butler, Housekeeping Supervisor Grant Clark, and Floor Tech Paul Collins for cooking lunch for all our residents and staff — hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings!

We wrapped up Nursing Home Week with our Blooming Awards, celebrating both residents and staff who make Avondale so special. It was the perfect way to close out Nursing Home Week 2026: “Moments in Bloom.” And this Nursing Home Week, we definitely made every moment count.

Day four of Nursing Home Week was a great one at Avondale!

We showed up in red, pink, and purple to celebrate love, friendship, and community spirit.

Residents spent time practicing for the talent show, and everyone had fun picking out some floral tattoos along the way.

The talent show brought it all together, with both residents and staff taking the stage. Safe to say, we’ve got some talented singers here at Avondale.

Staff also jumped back into the action with another round of “Petal to the Metal,” with Samantha Jones taking the win!

A full day centered around love, connection, and a lot of fun, exactly what this week is all about at Avondale.

Nursing Home Week Day 3 was all about Sunshine & Smiles ☀️💛

Yesterday, our team and residents showed up in orange, yellow, and gold, bringing all the warmth and cheer just like sunshine in the garden!

The day started off relaxing with calming music and fresh manicures for our residents.

In the afternoon, creativity was in full bloom as residents and staff decorated fun, colorful hats together.

Then the competition heated up! Staff had just 5 minutes to create the most unique flower using only tissue paper, pipe cleaners, and tape. Talk about thinking on your feet!

Huge congratulations to Addison Mayfield for taking home the win for most creative flower!

Safe to say… Avondale was shining bright all day long ☀️😊

We wore green to represent growth, renewal, and nature for this year's Moments in Bloom theme.

Nursing Home Week!🌸

We started the week in full bloom with florals, bright colors, and plenty of smiles. In the morning, residents enjoyed planting flowers during activities, and in the afternoon we gathered for a relaxing tea and lemonade social.

The fun kept going with Petal to the Medal, where staff brought their A-game. Brianna Bynes took home 1st place!

What a beautiful start to Nursing Home Week, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings!
