PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT: Yesterday while one of our crews were riding through town they saw a school age individual run between two cars and directly out into traffic without stopping and looking before doing so! Please BE VIGILANT both drivers and pedestrians. Parents please express the extreme dangers of roadway hazards to your children. Also in the past few weeks we’ve seen an increase in individuals running the stop signs on bicycles and in cars, this also includes children. We are genuinely concerned for the safety and wellbeing of our community. Please do your part and use caution throughout!!

September is Su***de Prevention Month, a crucial time to recognize the mental health challenges faced by EMS Clinicians.

Clinicians answer the call every single day, often facing high-stress situations, critical incidents, and long hours. Behind every uniform is a person who needs care, compassion, and community support. Prioritizing Clinician wellness and breaking the stigma around seeking help is essential to saving lives.

If you or a colleague are struggling, you do not have to carry the weight alone. Confidential, 24/7 support is available:
Immediate Support Resources
🔹 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 | Visit 988lifeline.org
🔹 Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 to connect with a crisis counselor.
🔹 The NVFC Fire/EMS Helpline: Call 1-888-731-FIRE (3473) for free, confidential, 24/7 support tailored for emergency responders.
🔹 National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): Visit nami.org for mental health education and peer support resources.

Please share this message to ensure every Clinician knows help is always within reach.

🚑 REMINDER: EMT PROGRAM INFORMATION SESSION THIS WEEK! 🚑

Our EMT Program Information Session is coming up this Wednesday, August 19th at 6:00 PM at St. Marys Area High School.

This session is open to interested juniors and seniors from:

🔹 St. Marys Area School District
🔹 Ridgway Area School District
🔹 Elk County Catholic High School
🔹 Johnsonburg Area High School

Students should either already be 16 years of age or older, or turn 16 by March 1, 2027, to attend.

Students and parents are encouraged to attend together. We will be going over the EMT program, course expectations, scheduling, eligibility requirements, clinical experiences, certification process, and what students can expect throughout the program. There will also be time to ask questions.

💻 We may have an option available for online attendance. However, we strongly recommend attending in person whenever possible, as we will have handouts and other information available for students and parents at the meeting. Additional information regarding an online option will be provided if it becomes available.

⚠️ Please remember: This is NOT an official course announcement or enrollment opening. This is strictly an information session for students and parents who are interested in learning more about the potential upcoming EMT program.

Students from Ridgway Area School District, Elk County Catholic High School, and Johnsonburg Area High School are welcome to attend the information session. Participation in the actual EMT program will still be subject to the requirements and approval of the student’s home school, as applicable.

📅 Wednesday, August 19th
⏰ 6:00 PM to approximately 8:00 PM
📍 St. Marys Area High School Library
977 S. Saint Marys Street
St. Marys, PA 15857

If becoming an EMT while still in high school is something you’re interested in, this is your opportunity to learn more, meet with us, and get your questions answered.

🚑 We hope to see you Wednesday!
