I SEE YOU
I see you.
The one who says, “I’m fine,”
when you’re anything but.
The one who keeps on going
because stopping feels too much.
I see the tired behind your eyes,
the bits you cover with jokes,
the things you never quite say,
the words that get stuck in your throat.
I see how much you give away,
how much of yourself you share.
How you notice when others go quiet,
and somehow, you’re always there.
I see the days you’ve had enough,
but still you get things done.
The days you don’t feel strong at all,
but somehow still carry on.
I see the bits nobody asks about,
the ones you keep tucked away.
The moments you think,
“F**k it, I can’t do this,”
then get up and do it anyway.
You should not have to fall apart
for someone to notice you.
You should not have to shout out loud
to prove you’re struggling too.
So if lately you’ve felt forgotten,
or like people just look straight through,
hear me when I say this...
I see you.
Not the smile.
Not the “I’m alright.”
Not the version you show
just to get through.
You.
The tired.
The trying.
The keeping going.
I see you.
And maybe today,
those are the words
you needed someone to say.
