🏆 The 3rd Annual Sports Physical Event was a resounding success, with the Marshall University Physician Assistant Program and the Marshall University School of Physical Therapy joining forces to provide 41 FREE sports physicals to local students! 🎉 The PA students and faculty had an unforgettable day of connection, pizza, and giving back to the community. Huge thanks to the PT School for leading the charge on this incredible initiative! 💪

Hey there, athletes! 🏈 Don't forget that this Saturday, June 13th, the Marshall University Physician Assistant Program and the Marshall University School of Physical Therapy are teaming up to provide FREE sports physicals from 9a - 2p! If you are needing a physical for the upcoming school year, swing by the School of Physical Therapy with a parent/guardian and with your state's sports physical form and get it taken care of by our fabulous faculty and students. It's first come, first serve, so don't be late! We're stoked to give back to the community and huge thanks to the Marshall University School of Physical Therapy for making it happen. The MUPA Program is thrilled to introduce the Class of 2028 Student Council! Each class nominates members of the cohort to take on leadership roles both within the classroom and within the community, and this group of outstanding individuals are already hard at work planning for upcoming events for the summer. From organizing volunteer opportunities to planning social gatherings, these dedicated students are committed to creating an unforgettable experience for their peers. We are confident that their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork will make a significant impact on our community. Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is in full swing for our PA students!

Over the past two weeks, students have been mastering musculoskeletal ultrasound of the knee and shoulder under the expert guidance of Dr. Dauber from Physical Therapy and Dr. Timmons from the School of Health & Movement Sciences. Their hands-on instruction has helped students build the skills needed to identify anatomy, evaluate pathology, and gain confidence with real-time imaging.

This follows last week's introduction to skin and soft tissue ultrasound, vein mapping and ultrasound-guided IV placement that was taught by our very own PA Lee. And we're just getting started!
