Meet Jayce! 💚

Jayce is an eighth grade student at Charleston Catholic who loves sports, spending time outdoors and cheering on the Herd.

After a serious bicycle accident earlier this year, Jayce received the care he needed at Hoops Family Children’s Hospital while recovering from a traumatic brain injury. We’re proud to share a little bit of Jayce’s story with you.

This Saturday, Jayce will join the Marshall Football team as the United for Hoops Junior Captain for the game against Middle Tennessee! 🏈

We are so grateful for our continued partnership with United Bank and Marshall University Athletics, who make the United for Hoops program possible!

We’re so excited to have Jayce representing Hoops Family Children’s Hospital and cheering on the Herd! 💚

A good nurse can make all the difference, especially when a little extra comfort is needed.

Joe Adkins, RN, in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Hoops Family Children's Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital made a big impression on patient Sarah during her visit. Even with an IV insertion on the agenda, Sarah was all smiles with her favorite nurse by her side.

Drs. Rita Ryan, Kevin Spicer, Meredith Garst, Corey McBrayer and Saubhagyi Singh have joined the pediatric care team at Marshall Health Network. Dr. Ryan, a nationally recognized neonatologist, will serve as chair of pediatrics.

The Child Advocacy Center at Hoops Family Children's Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital provides a coordinated, child-centered response when abuse or neglect is suspected, helping children and families navigate medical care, investigation and recovery in a safe, supportive environment. Recently, the CAC received $96,580.20 through WV's CAC Grant program to support its continued work. As one of only two hospital-based Child Advocacy Centers in WV, the Hoops CAC pairs a multidisciplinary approach with direct access to specialized pediatric expertise and resources across Marshall Health Network.
