William Shatner is delivering a blunt warning about the future of our planet.

In a new PETA video, the 95-year-old Star Trek icon urges people to rethink their diets and move toward plant-based eating, saying that humanity is “killing this beautiful planet.”

He references one of Captain Kirk’s most famous ideas, that the greatest danger we face is often ourselves and our own irrational choices.

In the message, Shatner highlights the suffering of animals and the growing environmental damage caused by human activity, calling it tragic and preventable. He insists that science already shows a clearer path forward and that action cannot be delayed.

Beyond this message, Shatner has long supported conservation efforts, including Sea Shepherd, and continues to speak out for environmental protection.

His warning aligns with research from the University of Oxford showing that plant-based diets can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, land use, and water pollution by up to 75 percent compared to high-meat diets.

The message is simple and urgent: small daily food choices may be one of the most powerful tools we have to protect life on Earth before it is too late.

"March 31 (Reuters) - The American Heart Association's new nutrition guidance, released on Tuesday, emphasized a dietary pattern rich in vegetables, ​fruits and whole grains, prioritizing plant-based protein over meat."

Great to see the AHA speaking the truth and accurately portraying nutritional science, despite the unserious food pyramid that was recently released with the FDA's US Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Interestingly, the FDA said this about the AHA guidelines:

"The American Heart ​Association's guidance is aligned with the U.S. Food and ​Drug Administration's ⁠dietary guidelines on major issues, a spokesperson from the FDA said, adding they look forward to working collaboratively with AHA."

Let's hope that the collaborative effort starts soon and results in the realignment of the FDA's dietary guidelines with the best available nutrition evidence.

The current administration continues to pursue its irrational campaign against wind and other clean energy sources. They've tried various arguments to support their pro-fossil-fuel stance, but each is based on mistruths.

Clean energy employs more workers who are well paid. Clean energy and energy efficiency cost less than the burning of fossil fuels. Clean energy doesn't kill millions of people each year with toxic emissions. And clean energy is the best path to energy independence.

But they continue their efforts to shut down wind projects—even those well on their way to completion — despite the cost to thousands of workers already engaged in building them. Fortunately, their efforts are failing in the courts.

Let your legislator know that you see through the lies and that you expect them to support energy that truly serves the American public.

🌬BREAKING NEWS: Federal judge allows Sunrise Wind to resume offshore wind construction! This offshore wind project is already about 45% complete, with dozens of turbine foundations installed.

This marks the fifth court loss for the administration in its effort to stop offshore wind projects currently under construction along the East Coast.

While this is a major win, these projects will continue to face legal and political challenges and will need to keep defending themselves in court.

The attacks on science and the environment are happening more quickly than the American public is able to keep up with.

The negative impacts of climate change are being felt in real time across the globe and are accelerating. And yet those leading our government have taken the position that it isn't real. This isn't based on any scientific consensus. That's just their opinion. It's a very sad time for our natural world.

“Honestly, the majority of work at NCAR is not climate change related,” Pielke says. He thinks the attack may simply be projection—that “the administration doesn’t like the idea of climate change, and therefore anything related to climate must be bad.”
