Here’s what each credential means:

MSN
Master of Science in Nursing
This means the person completed a graduate-level nursing degree beyond a BSN or RN program.

APRN
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
This means the nurse has advanced clinical training and can provide higher-level patient care. Depending on the state and role, APRNs may diagnose conditions, order tests, prescribe medications, and manage treatment plans.

FNP-BC
Family Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified
This means the provider is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has passed a national board certification exam. FNPs care for patients across the lifespan, including children, adults, and older adults.
