On indefinite medical leave and waiting for disability, he needs support to cover medical and daily expenses while focusing on healing.

Long time no update! Brant is doing progressively better everyday! They had to drain some fluid from around his right lung and medically he was clear to discharge, but they decided to tackle his pain problem in an inpatient setting. This way they can closely monitor his pain pump and make adjustments almost immediately! He had three more rounds of radiation on his neck and the pain there is almost gone! He had his first round of Padcev/keytruda on Tuesday and it went well!! They are titrating his pain pump up slowly, and he is FINALLY starting to feel some relief! Hopefully we’ll get to go home Monday or Tuesday. This is the best I’ve seen him in at least two months. Keep praying! 🙏

He’s a little stronger today. Nausea is better, but not gone. Getting his super hero mask molded today. Radiation soon 💪🏻

Brant was able to eat three whole meals today!! This is huge! Keep the prayers coming! He will have radiation on his brain next week. They are hoping this will help with the nausea as well as the fatigue. Back on treatment soon! ❤️

** Change of plans!! After speaking with the oncologist, he agreed that we should go back on Padcev/keytruda!! A treatment that we know works! Pray we have no issues with insurance! **

Oncology update: Brant has lost roughly 25lbs in a few short months. His nausea and fatigue have been horrible. But, a little bit of good news today. After telling us the last treatment was the last option, they’ve come across another treatment that looks promising. It’s called Enhertu. It’s one infusion every three weeks. They haven’t given up hope yet. We do need for him to gain some weight and just feel better. He’s tired. So tired. But, as long as he tells me he wants to keep fighting, that’s what we’ll do. He needs a lot of prayers though. Tons. Mustard seeds to move mountains. Pray that God gives him the strength to keep moving forward, and the knowledge to know when it’s truly time to let go.

The effects of the lesions in his brain can include:

* Memory problems
* Slower thinking or confusion
* Difficulty concentrating
* Poor judgment or impulsive decisions
* Personality changes
* Irritability or emotional swings
* Depression or anxiety
* Fatigue and “brain fog”
* Trouble finding words
* Balance and coordination issues (especially from cerebellar lesions)

Frontal lobe involvement is especially associated with:

* changes in judgment,
* reduced insight,
* personality changes,
* impulsivity,
* apathy,
* or difficulty making complex decisions.

Cerebellar involvement can affect:

* balance,
* coordination,
* speech clarity,
* and sometimes emotional regulation/cognitive processing too.

Importantly:
Someone can still appear “mostly normal” while having subtle but meaningful changes in reasoning, emotional control, or decision-making capacity. Symptoms can fluctuate day to day depending on fatigue, swelling, medications, sleep, pain, infections, or treatment effects.

New scan results are in. The cancer has spread more since the last scans.

Brain MRI:

There are more tumors in the brain now, and some have gotten bigger.
One spot in the back left part of the brain more than doubled in size.
There is some swelling around a few tumors.
One area has a small amount of old bleeding.
The good news is there is no major brain bleed, no stroke, and no dangerous pressure buildup in the brain right now.

Neck/spine MRI:

The cancer is also in the bones of the neck and upper spine.
It has not compressed the spinal cord.
There are also “wear and tear” changes in the neck that can cause pain, numbness, or tingling.

So in simple terms:
The scans show the cancer is progressing, but there is not currently a major emergency like spinal cord compression, a massive brain bleed, or severe brain swelling.

It’s been a while since my last update, but nothing really new to report. The pain pump is working, but may need to be adjusted down a little. His appetite has decreased significantly, so there is a little weight loss. He has a brain scan on the 15th. Keep praying 🙏

Good morning Battle Brigade!! Our boy is doing well, and on the tractor carefully moving fallen tree debris as we speak! His staples will come out Monday and his pain pump seems to be helping tremendously. The chemo keeps him tired, but he keeps moving! 💪🏻

Our boy had a better night last and ate a little breakfast this morning. They started the dosage on the pump pretty conservatively, so they’ve raised it a few times. It seems to be doing better today. Going home in a few hours. We miss the puppy doggies!!
