🩵 Circular Knit vs. Flat Knit: Which Compression Garment Is Right for You?

If you’ve been prescribed a compression garment for lymphedema, you may have heard the terms circular knit and flat knit. But what’s the difference? 🤔

🧦 Circular Knit

Seamless and generally more lightweight
Stretchier and often easier to put on
Comfortable for everyday wear
Often a great option when swelling is mild to moderate and the limb shape is relatively regular

🧵 Flat Knit

Made from a thicker, more structured fabric
Provides stronger containment for swelling
Excellent for limbs with significant swelling, skin folds, or unusual shapes
Custom flat knit garments are measured specifically to your body for a precise fit

💡 The most expensive or firmest garment isn't automatically the best garment. Your compression needs, limb shape, swelling pattern, mobility, strength, and ability to put on the garment all matter when choosing the right option.

Compression for the chest and abdomen isn’t just for women—men experience swelling in these areas too. 👨‍⚕️

After surgery, cancer treatment, trauma, or with certain medical conditions, men can develop swelling in the chest, abdomen, or torso that may require compression as part of their treatment. 🩺
