There was a time when I believed every opportunity was something I should pursue.

Every invitation.
Every project.
Every request.
Every open door.

I thought success meant saying yes. But experience has taught me something different. Not every opportunity is my assignment.

Some opportunities are distractions disguised as possibilities. Some are rooted in obligation rather than purpose. Some are simply meant for someone else.

One of the greatest lessons of midlife is learning the difference between what is available and what is aligned. Just because I can do something doesn't mean I should.

I've learned to pause before committing and ask myself:

* Does this align with my values?
* Does this support the season I'm in?
* Will this nourish me or deplete me?
* Am I saying yes out of purpose or pressure?

The truth is, every yes requires an investment of time, energy, and attention. And those resources are too valuable to spend carelessly. Today, I trust myself enough to decline what isn't mine to carry.

Because every time I say no to what is not my assignment, I create space for what truly is. And that kind of wisdom feels like freedom.

✨ Not every opportunity is your assignment.
✨ Not every open door is your destination.
✨ Discernment is a form of self-care.

There was a time when I believed that I was behind.

People just starting their careers.
People with fewer responsibilities.
People who hadn't made mistakes.
People who seemed to have everything figured out.

But life has taught me something different. Some of the most beautiful beginnings happen after the detours.

After the heartbreak.
After the disappointment.
After the job loss.
After the diagnosis.
After the children leave home.
After the dream changes.
After you've spent years being everything to everyone else and finally decide it's time to reconnect with yourself.

It's often the chapter where you become brave enough to write a new one.

You are allowed to change your mind.
You are allowed to redefine success.
You are allowed to pursue a new dream.
You are allowed to begin again—even if no one else understands why.

Your past does not disqualify you from possibility. And your setbacks do not disqualify you from joy. If you're standing at the edge of something new, uncertain, or unfamiliar, consider this your reminder:

You are worthy of new beginnings at every stage of life.

There was a time in my life when fear sounded responsible. When overthinking felt safer than trying. When hesitation disguised itself as preparation. So many opportunities, ideas, and dreams sat on the sidelines of my life because I kept waiting for the “perfect” moment to begin. But lately, I’ve been realizing something… My “yes” has the power to change my entire life.

Every meaningful shift in my life started with a yes:
Yes to healing.
Yes to starting over.
Yes to evolving.
Yes to being seen.
Yes to trusting myself again.
Yes to becoming someone I once only dreamed about.

And if I’m honest, some of my greatest breakthroughs came after seasons where I doubted myself the most. So this season, I’m learning to say yes to the things that align with peace, purpose, wellness, and growth — even when fear is still present.

Because fear doesn’t always mean stop. Sometimes it simply means you’re standing at the edge of transformation.

And maybe… your next “yes” changes everything.

Thank you to Brainz Magazine for my latest feature.

In my latest article, I talk about the cost of always being “on”.

For many women, the tiredness is not just physical. It is also emotional, mental, and relational. It is the tiredness that comes from always being reachable.

Check out my new post:

Many women experience a unique kind of exhaustion that often goes unnoticed because, from the outside, everything is working as usual. Since you keep handling everything, others think you are okay. But being...

Some seasons will humble you. Some lessons will stretch you.
Some decisions won’t go the way you hoped.

But failing at something does not mean you are a failure.

It means you were brave enough to try.
It means you stepped outside of comfort.
It means you’re learning, growing, adjusting, and becoming.

So many women carry the weight of one mistake as if it cancels out every strength they possess. It doesn’t. One setback cannot erase your resilience, your wisdom, your purpose, or your progress.

There’s a difference between failing and being defeated. And one thing about me?
I may have moments that don’t go as planned… but I will regroup, realign, and rise again.

Give yourself permission to be a work in progress. It doesn't have to be perfect.
Just committed to continuing.

Can we talk about the afternoon crash for a second? Not just “sleepy.”
I mean the kind where your brain feels foggy, your patience gets thin, and suddenly another cup of coffee sounds like survival.

Sometimes it’s:
• skipping protein earlier in the day
• stress hormones running high
• dehydration
• sitting too long
• blood sugar swings
• mental overstimulation

There comes a point in your journey where doubting yourself becomes more exhausting than believing in yourself.

You’ve survived seasons that tried to break your confidence. You’ve carried responsibilities that stretched you thin. You’ve started over, adapted, learned, healed, and kept moving — even when nobody fully understood how hard it was.

And yet… sometimes we still talk ourselves out of the very things we prayed for.
We question our abilities. We minimize our growth. We compare our timeline to everyone else’s highlight reel.

But look at how far you’ve already come. You have wisdom now.
Discernment now. Strength now.

Not because life was easy — but because you kept showing up anyway.

The truth is…starting over takes courage.

So many women stay stuck in places that no longer fit because they’re afraid of what people will think if they pivot, rest, rebuild, or begin again.

But growth rarely looks polished in real time.

Sometimes starting over looks like:

changing direction after years in the same role
rebuilding your confidence after burnout
learning your body again in midlife
setting boundaries you should’ve set years ago
becoming a beginner in a season where everyone expects you to have it all figured out

And there is nothing embarrassing about choosing yourself again.

You are allowed to evolve.
Allowed to outgrow old versions of yourself.
Allowed to try differently this time.

The women who inspire us most are rarely the ones who never failed.
They’re the ones who found the courage to begin again anyway.
