From chaos to clarity. Let the Light break through. 🕊️✨

Ever feel like your mind is just a swirling void of tabs, unread notifications, and decision paralysis?

When you have a neurodivergent brain, executive dysfunction and anxiety can make your entire week feel like a dark, chaotic storm. Your thoughts start spinning, rumination kicks in, and you feel completely stuck in the “all-or-nothing” freeze.

But look at how the Story begins.

In Genesis 1, before anything else was built, the world was dark and empty. He simply spoke into the dark: “Let there be light.” And with a single phrase, He separated the light from the darkness and brought everything into perfect, functional order.

The Gospel promise is that the exact same God who commanded light to shine out of darkness has shone in our hearts through Jesus. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way out of the mental static through sheer willpower.

When the chaos hits this week, stop trying to fix it all yourself. Jesus is the anchor who pulls you out of the dark and places your feet on a secure foundation of grace. Every single day is an invitation to watch Him bring your chaos into order.

What specific, chaotic area in your life—whether it’s your schedule, your anxiety, or a heavy burden—are you bringing before God today? Let’s clear the air and support each other in the comments below. ⬇️

Pastor Grant brought a beautiful sermon for Trinity Sunday.

In the beginning, world was void and full of darkness. God brought light and the chaos was brought into order.

The same thing he did for the world, he does in our lives. Because sin enter the world, our lives are in chaos and we try to bring order with the things of this world, May it be politics, relationships, or addictions.

God created us to be in a relationship with him. He never meant for us to live in chaos, but in peace. He sent Jesus Christ to be our savior. He died on the cross for our sins, experiencing the disorder and darkness in order to spare us from it.

Through him we are brought back to God and the darkness no longer separates us. Because of him, we brought out of darkness and into his marvelous light.

Happy Sunday!😀💙

May survival mode is officially closed. Welcome to June. ☀️🌿

Let’s be honest: May can be absolute chaos. Between shifting schedules, finishing projects, holiday weekends, and the sudden pressure to have a “summer body,” some of us can easily slip into an all-or-nothing freeze.
But June is a brand new environment. It’s time to stop white-knuckling your old routine and start building a foundation that actually lets you breathe.

True functional wellness isn’t about being a machine; it’s about being adaptable. As the light changes and the days get longer, your health routine should expand, not stress you out.

4 Simple Health Routine Changes for June:

1. Take the Movement Outside: Give your nervous system a massive hit of natural dopamine. Trade the treadmill or the locked room for a trail walk, outdoor goblet squats, or an agility session in the park. 🌳

2. Anchor with the Sun: Use the early morning daylight to reset your circadian rhythm. Step outside for 5–10 minutes right after you wake up to clear the morning brain fog. ☀️

3. Simplify the Fuel: Don’t stress over complex, heavy meal prep when it’s warm out. Keep your energy steady with simple, hydrating, and vibrant whole foods that don’t require hours in a hot kitchen. 🍉

4. The 15-Minute Rule: If executive dysfunction is keeping you from a long workout, drop the expectation. Commit to just 15 minutes of rhythmic movement or focused mobility. Consistency beats duration every single time. ⏱️

You are a living stone—dynamic, strong, and built to thrive in every season. Let’s drop the guilt from last month and step into a fresh flow together.

What is ONE health or mindset habit you are officially dropping in May so you can have more good days in June? Let’s clear the deck below! ⬇️

I have a brand new merengue song for all of you and you’re going to love it. Grab a friend and join me for Zumba tomorrow. I can’t wait to dance with you.

If you have an “all-or-nothing” brain, the thieves of shame love to tell you that you only deserve peace, grace, or rest after you’ve had a perfectly productive day. You end up trying to dig your own wells of worth out of sheer willpower.

But on this Pentecost week, the Gospel tells a completely different story. 🕊️

Jesus stands in the middle of our chaotic, multi-tab mental traffic and offers the Promise of Living Water. It is a free, unmerited, overflowing gift.

The Challenge: Drink From the Well Before You Strive.

Before you dive into the hustle, before you let comparison or executive dysfunction dictate your value, pause for 60 seconds.
Remind yourself that the Holy Spirit has already poured God’s radical love directly into your heart. You are a living stone built on an imperishable foundation. Your cup is full before you even open your calendar.

What is one area of your life right now where you’ve been trying to ‘white-knuckle’ your way through on an empty tank? Let’s trade the striving for some grace in the comments below. ⬇️

Deacon Brian gave a wonderful message for Pentecost Sunday.

God communicates with his church in a way that is clear and direct. His spirit poured out on the early church allowing them pray and proclaim the works of God in different languages so all could believe in him.

Faith comes by hearing the word of God. The law helps us understand our sinful nature. The gospel leads us to our savior, Jesus Christ, and what he did for us on the cross. He made a way for us to be forgiven of our sin and reconciled back to God.

Whoever calls on the name of the Lord, shall be saved.

Happy Sunday.😀💙

We are heading into Memorial Day weekend, and for some of us, “unscheduled time” can actually feel incredibly heavy. The “thieves” of shame like to whisper that if we aren’t constantly achieving, optimizing, or fixing something, we’re falling behind.

But as we close out Mental Health Awareness Month, the theme requires us to look inward. True self-care isn’t about escaping your life; it’s about creating a foundation where you don’t constantly have to run away.

You are a “Living Stone,” chosen and precious. Your value is completely independent of your executive function or your holiday to-do list.

4 Simple Steps for Holiday Weekend Self-Care:

1. Declare a Digital Sabath: Put the phone in another room, at least for a couple of hours. Turn off the work emails. Give your nervous system a break from the constant dopamine loops. 📱

2. Go Outdoors: Spend some time in the sunlight, breathing in the fresh air, and reminding yourself that you exist in a space of grace, not pressure. 🌳

3. Joyfully Move Your Body: Don’t train to punish yourself for holiday food. Move your body because it feels good to stretch, breathe, and feel strong. 🏃‍♂️

4. The Boundary Check: “No” is a complete sentence. If a holiday gathering is going to drain your social battery into the “Red Zone,” it is entirely okay to protect your peace and stay in the fold of your own home. 🛡️

We all need a break. Let’s trade the guilt for genuine recovery.

What is the number one thing you are going to say ‘No’ to this weekend so you can say ‘Yes’ to your mental health? Let’s share our boundaries below. ⬇️

Are you carrying the wait of your own anxiety?

Peter explicitly warns the church not to be surprised by the “fiery trial” of suffering. Instead, he gives the ultimate pastoral comfort:

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your [cares] on him because he cares for you.” - 1 Peter 5:7

Peter acknowledges that the “in-between” time is a battle. The devil prowls like a roaring lion, trying to isolate the sheep through fear and shame. But we resist by standing firm in the faith, knowing our suffering is shared by the global family of believers.

The Greek word for “casting” means to literally hurl or throw something heavy onto something else—like throwing a heavy pack onto a beast of burden.

You don’t have to carry the weight of your own anxiety. You are commanded to throw it onto the shoulders of the One who was broken on the cross to give you an imperishable crown of glory.

When that “all-or-nothing” panic or decision paralysis hits this week, physically open your hands. Name the specific anxiety out loud and say: “I am throwing this onto You, Jesus, because You care for me.” Stop trying to carry it like a badge of honor; let the Burden-Bearer take it.

What are you throwing on Jesus shoulders this week? Let’s support each other in the comments.

Deacon Brian gave a wonderful message for Ascension Sunday.

If you’ve ever suffered grief, it can isolating and can cut us off from everything around us.

The message of the ascension is that we are never alone.

Our sins separated us from God. Jesus took on our sin and died on the cross to atone for it. He didn’t stay in the grave. He rose three days later with all power and authority from the Father. Now he is always with us and guides us in all circumstances, grief, joy and everywhere in between.

May our eyes and hearts see and know that Jesus is with us and for us.

Happy Sunday.😀💙

Isolation is a thief. Connection is the cure. 🛡️🤝

Building on last week’s message: we know that a “good day” isn’t about perfection—it’s about connection. This year’s theme for Mental Health Awareness Month is More Good Days Together, and that starts with the Checking In.

For some individuals, putting up a mask is essential for fear of bringing the mood down. But checking in with yourself and your community is how we break the stigma. It’s how we remind each other that “You Are Not Alone”.

4 Steps for a Meaningful Check-In:

1. Internal Traffic Light: Are you in Green (Good), Yellow (Frazzled), or Red (Shut down)? Acknowledge it without judgment.

2. The No-Pressure Text: Send a “Thinking of you, no need to reply” message. It’s a low-dopamine way to maintain the fold.

3. Rhythmic Grounding: Use the box breathing technique to quiet the noise before you reach out.

4. The Specific Ask: Instead of “How are you?”, ask “What’s one win I can celebrate with you today?”

We are “Living Stones” built together—and the structure only stays strong when we support the stones next to us.

Who is the person in your life that makes the hard days a little better? Let them know you’re checking in! ⬇️

Twenty years ago this month, I was in the worst shape of my life.

I weighed 251 lbs, using stairs was leaving me out of breath, my thighs rubbed together when I walked, and I was developing hypertension.

I knew that if I didn’t do anything I would end up on a cocktail of medication.

Thank God for my amazing, supportive sister. I wanted to lose weight and improve my health like she did. She gave me a visitor’s pass to her gym, and that planted the seed. I hired a personal trainer, worked out 5 days a week, started cooking healthier balanced meals, and significantly cut back on fast food and sweets. A year later I weighed 191 lbs.

Then in 2016, I fell off the wagon with my regiment and gained back ten pounds. I couldn’t believe I was back in the 200s. It took my dad having a heart attack to make me realize that I couldn’t go back to where I once was. I got back in the gym and started researching plant based eating. After reading several books and studies and watching a handful of documentaries, I decided to try it out. I did a week’s worth of meatless meals and then went all in, 100% plant based. In three months (January to March 2017), I lost 30 lbs, and kept it off to this day. I’m still 100% plant based and thriving.

I have lost a total of 80 lbs. My blood work came out amazing, my blood pressure is perfect, I’m in the best shape of my life, and as an added bonus, I’m regular!

I believe that God’s will for me is to inspire others to live healthy, abundant lives. I’m thankful for this journey and all that is yet to come.
