It’s kind of chic to have a place like TBR where you can come to...

A team who ask “why?” instead of just accepting “that’s how it is.”
To work with a team that never stops learning.
To have practitioners who look at the whole picture and not just the painful area.
A team who KNOWS when to refer out when an issue is outside our scope.

At TBR, we believe the body is complex, connected, and always worth understanding. While we absolutely want to help you feel better in the moment, lasting change often takes more than chasing symptoms.

It takes curiosity. It takes exploring your history, assessing movement, understanding patterns, and giving you the feedback and tools to better understand your own body.

The TBR way is built on education, collaboration, and a commitment.

Our team is constantly learning, refining our skills, and bringing new knowledge back to our clients because your care deserves more than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Better questions lead to better care.

Yesterday during our team training, I brought my sweet husband in to get worked on.

He's had chronic pain around the TL junction of his back, the base of his ribs, and in his posterior neck extensors for years. While those symptoms hadn't flared up in a while, his biggest complaint yesterday was his right knee. In full extension, even just standing, it felt like it was going to give out, and his quad felt like it couldn't relax.

With NKT, we started with perturbation to determine where he was lacking central stability.

We found ligament involvement in the pelvic floor paired with weak multifidus. We released the ligaments and followed it with a posterior chain activation using breathing to help create more centralized stability.

Once we stood him back up and repeated the perturbation, we found that his central stability had returned. However, we identified an issue in his DLS (Deep Longitudinal Subsystem), specifically on the right side. (Swipe to see the synergists and antagonists of the DLS.)

When applying an anterior-to-posterior perturbation, we found weakness when pushing at the manubrium of the sternum with a right foot lift, which often indicates an issue in the neck trailing down the chain. This also matched his history of complaints.

We tested his right hamstrings and erectors, both part of the DLS, and they were weak. We initially tried pairing the weak system with an antagonist, but nothing matched, so we trusted the perturbation findings.

We found that his right neck extensors were the issue and paired them with the DLS. After releasing the neck, we had him perform a specific DLS activation/breathing drill.

He stood up, and his pain dropped from a 6/7 out of 10 to about a 1.

This morning I texted him to check in, and sure enough, no pain. 👏

The power of history and assessment. 🙌
