How do you know when it might be time to consider hospice?

Sometimes, the signs are easy to miss.

Maybe your loved one is:
• Spending more time sleeping

• Losing strength or independence

• Having more pain or difficulty breathing

• Making frequent trips to the hospital

• Eating or drinking less

• Simply not having the quality of life they once did

Hospice isn’t about giving up. It’s about comfort, dignity, and making the most of the time you have together.

And you don’t have to wait until you’re certain. A conversation with hospice can help you understand your options and decide what’s best for your family.

If you’re wondering whether hospice might be right for someone you love, we’re here to talk. No pressure. Just compassion and answers.

What does a good day look like?

It might be waking up without pain.

It might be sitting outside in the sunshine, enjoying a favorite meal, listening to music, or laughing with someone you love.

It might be a quiet afternoon, a familiar routine, or simply feeling comfortable and at peace.

At Hospice and Palliative Care of Eastern Idaho, we believe a good day doesn’t have to be extraordinary. Sometimes, it’s simply a day filled with the things that matter most to you.

Our goal is to help make more of those days possible — with comfort, dignity, and compassionate care.

Because every day matters.

Meet Keri
For the past eight years, Keri has dedicated her career to hospice social work, where she has found a true passion for supporting patients and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

Keri believes that difficult seasons deserve compassion, dignity, and someone who is willing to simply be present. In her role, she provides comfort, advocacy, guidance, and emotional support while helping patients and families navigate the challenges that come with serious illness and end-of-life care.

In May 2026, Keri celebrated an incredible professional accomplishment—after being away from school for more than 20 years, she graduated from Idaho State University with her Master of Social Work degree. Her commitment to continuing her education reflects her dedication to growing as a professional and providing the very best support to the individuals and families she serves.

Outside of work, Keri and her husband, Jordan, have been married for nearly 25 years and are raising their four children, McKinlee, Hunter, Baylee, and Hadlee. Family is at the heart of who Keri is, and she enjoys spending time with the people she loves, especially outdoors hiking, traveling, staying active, and making memories together.

Keri is also passionate about fitness and teaches group fitness classes, combining her love of health, encouragement, and helping others reach their goals.

At the heart of everything Keri does is her love of people. She finds great joy in building meaningful relationships and helping others feel supported, valued, and never alone.

We are grateful to have Keri on our team and proud to celebrate both the compassion she brings to her work and the dedication she has shown in reaching this important milestone.

Medication Support, When It Matters Most

When someone enters hospice care, medication management becomes about more than simply taking the right medicine at the right time.

Our hospice team carefully reviews medications to help ensure they are safe, appropriate, and focused on comfort and quality of life.

Hospice nurses work with patients, families, and providers to:
• Manage symptoms such as pain, nausea, anxiety, and shortness of breath
• Help families understand what each medication is for
• Adjust medications as a patient’s needs change
• Identify medications that may no longer provide meaningful benefit
• Help make medication routines simpler and less stressful

And perhaps most importantly, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Hospice is there to guide patients and families through these changes with compassion, education, and support—so the focus can remain where it belongs: on comfort and time together.

Compassion, as it should be.
