Good DSPs know the difference. 💪

A good day is not the same as a compliant day. Too often, people with intellectual disabilities are praised for being “good” simply because they followed directions and caused no problems. Compliance may make support easier, but it does not tell us whether the person felt happy, respected, or heard. Doing everything you are told is not the same as living a meaningful life.
..

ID: Title reads: Remember: For people with intellectual disabilities compliance is not the same as a good day. Image shows a professional-looking person talking to a support staff person. The speech bubble reads: “He had a really good day today.”
Person with an intellectual disability with a thought bubble: “I did everything you told me to.”

Last year we took DSP personal development by storm. We’ll do it again this year, but first…a little practical training. 😎

Idaho just made something official — and we've been waiting to say this out loud.

Our med cert program is now state-approved. That means DSPs across Idaho can get certified through a program built by people who've actually done this work. Not a checkbox. Not a formality. A real credential that reflects the real complexity of what you do every day.

Enrollment is live at medcert.dspsdoinggood.com. And this is just the beginning of what's coming this fall.

We’ve been a little quiet…

…but not because nothing has been happening. 👀

Behind the scenes, we’ve been building something that is VERY DSPs Doing Good:

A med cert course that doesn’t feel like someone trapped you in a beige conference room with a 97-slide PowerPoint and a lukewarm bottle of water.

We’re building interactive med pass practice.
Real-life MAR scenarios.
Common mistakes.
Decision-making moments.
Confidence builders.
And yes… even a leaderboard, because apparently we’re making medication assistance training a little competitive. 😅

Because here’s the truth:

DSPs don’t need more information thrown at them.

They need rehearsal.

They need practice.

They need a safe place to make the mistake before the mistake matters.

This is just one sneak peek of what we’ve been building as we get ready for DSPs Doing Good on Tour 2026.

The mission is still the same:

Make DSP training more human.
More practical.
More memorable.
And way less boring.

We cannot wait to show you what’s coming.

♥️ TODAY ♥️ Join us in red to show them we're more than just a Medicaid cut.

Without HCBS supports:
• Families burn out
• People lose independence
• Communities lose incredible humans

This isn’t fear-mongering.

It’s reality.

And reality deserves thoughtful solutions.
