As tarsal tunnel release procedures continue to present variability in outcomes, surgeons are recognizing that visual decompression does not always equal completeness of release. Establishing real-time, objective intraoperative feedback is critical. With CHECKPOINT Guardian®, surgeons can establish a baseline response prior to release, assess improvement following decompression, and identify areas of persistent compression that may require further attention—helping guide distal branch release and support confident closure. Turn tarsal tunnel release into a measurable procedure with this technique guide, highlighting how Checkpoint Guardian can help confirm completeness and reduce the risk of failed outcomes. When landmarks fail, Guardian guides. Scarred, unpredictable anatomy in revision cases can turn nerve location into one of the toughest parts of the procedure. CHECKPOINT Guardian® provides real-time confirmation of critical nerves—helping surgeons move faster, operate with confidence, and maintain efficiency without disrupting workflow. Efficient safety for the most complex shoulders.

As revision nerve decompression cases continue to present complex challenges, surgeons are focusing not only on neurolysis, but on optimizing the surrounding soft tissue environment.

Creating an environment that supports nerve protection is critical. By incorporating CHECKPOINT ACMShield® in revision compression neuropathies, surgeons can establish a temporary protective barrier around the nerve—either as a standalone solution or alongside techniques like adipofascial or hypothenar fat flaps.

Unlock a practical approach to managing revision compression neuropathies with this case series and technique overview from Dr. Karan Desai, highlighting how ACMShield can be integrated to enhance nerve protection in challenging cases.

Join us virtually on April 22nd at 8PM! Registration link in our bio. This program provides an overview of the evaluation and surgical management of upper extremity spasticity. The history and evolution of these procedures, as well as their place within the treatment continuum, will be discussed. A case-based approach will be used to review patient assessment, surgical planning, procedural fundamentals, and postoperative care. All members of the interdisciplinary care team who work with patients with limb spasticity are encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there!

As the use of CHECKPOINT GUARDIAN® continues to expand beyond traditional nerve repair, surgeons are incorporating it into a broader range of procedures, including tendon transfers.

Achieving optimal tension during tendon transfer can be challenging. By using direct muscle stimulation with Guardian, surgeons can apply proportional control of muscle contraction to better assess excursion and verify appropriate tensioning intraoperatively.

Unlock more predictable tendon transfer outcomes with this quick technique overview from Dr. Kyle Chepla, highlighting a reproducible approach to tension verification using Checkpoint Guardian.

Heading to Chula Vista for the AAHS ASPN ASRM joint annual meetings? Join us for our lunch symposium on Saturday, January 17th where Drs. Kyle Chepla, Christopher Crowe, and Adam Strohl will review “Controversies in Nerve Surgery”.

This session brings together cutting-edge research and clinical expertise to explore innovations in the management of complex nerve injuries and pathologies. Topics include the assessment and management of nerve injuries secondary to shoulder arthroplasty, the use of intraoperative nerve stimulation as a prognostic tool in adult and pediatric nerve reconstruction, optimizing tendon transfers, and the role of selective and hyperselective neurectomy in the treatment of extremity spasticity. Presentations blend preclinical research with real-world clinical insights to support improved surgical outcomes.
